I feel like I'm doomed. I had 3 375w panels and 2 battleborn on my old van. This sucks.

What about this VHB tape stuff. If I run aluminum angles with VHB tape across the roof and then mount the racking to it, would it work? I have a full size commercial panel. I want to get like 4in clearance for the fantastic vent. Will that stuff hold up to the wind pressure?

I took apart a light to see what was in the roof. It was filled solid with syrofoam insulation. I seen another piece of aluminum frame. That's my only option. I have to mount a bolt through the aluminum frame. But I can't find it. Ugh

VHB tape? I've never used this stuff but it's looking like my only option. I have commercial size panels. This worries me. Plus the fiberglass is the honeycomb type. Looks so fragile.

I got a stud finder to try and find the beams and that thing is going off whenever it feels like it. I don't know what to do. I don't want to poke too many holes in the roof

Ok. I think what I thought an aluminum angle is and what you think an aluminum angle is were 2 different things.

Just checked and the metal studs are aluminum

How will I attach panels to the angles though. This is is what I don't understand

Also not sure how to attach the panels if I use the angle ad cross bars. I need to get a good 4-5in clearance. I really want to use this uni-strut if I can.

What you think? A couple of lag bolts and dicor will do?

I guess just get a beam finder and hope I can mount to metal frames in the roof. What would be best for that? Self tappers? Toggle bolt?

I took out both vents and added a maxair. It's hard to see because the metal frame fills the cutout. Looks like a half inch Plastic roof, metal frame, quarter inch Plywood sandwich

Also, it looks like there might be a metal frame in between the roof and ceiling. It's hard to tell though. If I could bite into a metal frame that would work. This is my first class C. I had vans up until now

I recently bought a 19ft class c. Im trying to transfer my old solar system over to it. I used cross bars that were bolt mounted through the roof on my old one and uni-strut. The roof on the new rv is so thin and fragile I don't trust this crossbar system. I need help figuring out how to build a...
