    RIP highdesertranger

I was looking forward to meeting him when I get out there. Kind of hard to imagine this forum without him.

    Domestic travel potentially curtailed/forbidden?

I heard from a friend that if areas go into lock down one of the approved reasons for travel will be outdoor recreation. Hope that is the case.

young adults + financial responsibity[split] from 250 a month for years Lisa on youtube with Bob

"A lot of people don't know this, but Walden, by Henry David Thoreau, is probably the first example of this. He pretended he was out living in the wilderness all on his own, when really he was only a couple of miles outside of town and his mom brought him muffins and did his laundry. And people...

Folks that own a small piece of land and camp on it?

I've watched a lot of Rusty's videos. He say's the ideal situation is to find a lot that formerly had a mobile home on it so that utilities are already in place. That's a huge savings. His place in the Hill Country in Texas has a sheet metal RV cover on it for shade and he had a concrete slab...

Fight a grizzly with a penknife!

Had an online friend who was on vacation at Big Bend NP a few years ago and a cougar attacked his son in the parking lot at the lodge after breakfast. He stabbed it repeatedly in the thigh with a Spyderco pocketknife and it let go and ran off. His son only sustained minor injuries.

    Paint Job

When I was into power boats I noticed that I could walk around barefoot on a white deck but even a light sand color would burn your feet. Just that little bit of color made a huge difference.

Will a half ton, (1500) dodge be able to pull 20 ft. Cargo trailer.

I've towed 4-6k lb trailers with half ton trucks for the last 25 years without a problem. I don't push it and keep my focus on the road- especially in town.

Will a half ton, (1500) dodge be able to pull 20 ft. Cargo trailer.

Weight-wise you could probably make it work if you were very careful not to overload it and didn't put too much weight on the back. Trading the toy hauler for something smaller and more manageable would be another option.

Single or double bed for a van, which is the best?

Van plus a 10 x10' Springbar looks really attractive to me. Live out of the tent when conditions are good. Would require space to store it tho.

They say everyone is replaceable, but I think that job description might have a potential employment pool of "JD" :)

SwivelsRus install on Nissan NV 2500-lengthy Part 1

Thanks for taking the time to post this! From the pic it looks like when the seat is rotated it needs to be pointed pretty much straight back due to the tight fit with the box, or console. Is that the case? I would like to be able to sit there and play guitar but for that to work the seat would...

    Weeroll

To me the sweet spot would be around a 6.5' width to allow for 6' interior with insulation and at least 12' on the length. Shopping utility trailers I've noticed that additional length adds almost nothing to the price. 12' is much easier to maneuver in tight spots tho.

    Compact Van NV200 ceiling vent

I'm just repeating what I've read on the interwebs, but wouldn't a small floor vent work even better?

Opinions on the 2017 GMC Savana 2500

Nissan likes to work out the bugs, then make them like that forever. So you get an older tech drive train that is reliable but not the best fuel efficiency.
