    Storage locker or cargo trailer?

My idea would be to rent an affordable space for the trailer and use it for a home base. Maybe a winter base and a summer one, or halfway between your seasonal preferences.

    I bought a cargo trailer

    I bought a cargo trailer

I'm pretty surety the solenoid has been done. I will confirm with my wiring guy to make sure. He told me there was no danger of draining the batteries while parked.  He installed a fancy RV  box which houses an extensive 12v panel and the 120v panel for the 30amp shore power. I have no idea what...

    I bought a cargo trailer

Yea, my insulation and interior walls prob weigh less than 100#. Im gonna use 2 cots for beds. The only built in will be a 5' or so countertop with a cabinet underneath just large enough to house my fusebox, solar controller, and inverter. Any more cabinets, if any, will be plastic. Im gonna run...

    Anyone living in an SUV?

I have a 4runner. Ive camped with it but full time would be tough. You could make it work if your a single person  and you do most of your living outside. You'll need a small tent(to hold your place at a campsite)  a screen room or easy up/down tarp system, and plenty of mosquito netting so you...

    I bought a cargo trailer

Thought Id update this thread as its been a while. All Ive done is apply poly to the walls and ceiling. Unfortunately, I totaled the Silverado soon after insulating and wiring the trailer. I wound up replacing it with a brand new Toyota 4 Runner, 4wd, to satisfy the wife, whom I let talk me...

    Towing capacity question

This will have to double as my everyday vehicle. Travel will be2-3 mo out on f the yr. Trailer has elec brakes. I overestimated weight in the op. Most likely 2-4 batteries and 20 gal water is most I'd add. So 3500# max. I can get an anti sway hitch if needed. Aftermarket transmission coolers are...

    Towing capacity question

Trailer is 7x14 cargo, weight 2010 # empty. I figure it will never go over 3500# or so even if I put running water/shower/flush toilet and fresh/gray/black tanks in it. Which I don’t plan to do. I figure I’ll at most carry 40 gal or so of fresh water and 4 batteries at most, right now there’s 2...

    Shower walls in Travel Trailer

I found a 20 gal livestock water tank at Tractor supply I think I’m gonna use for a base. It’s 24” diameter and 12” sides. I may have to cushion the base of it with some foam insulation or something so it will take standing on it. I’ll hang a shower curtain around it. It will be at the back of...

Registration and Insurance on a Home Built Camper

I figure if I have a portable potty, a dishpan, and some gallons of water, technically it’s still a Cargo trailer. Just an insulated one with house batteries. Stuff in it is personal property, ie. cargo.

    Kreg Jig Question

After watching some tubes and reading your comments, I think I’ll spring for the 99.99 kit and prob get a corner clamp as well. Thanks all.

    Kreg Jig Question

Want to get one of these kits When I start building some bed frames and shelves/cabinets in my Cargo trailer but there are several options available from $50-$150. I don’t plan to become a master woodworker but I need the minimum kit to conveniently accomplish this. I have a very small...

    Cargo Trailer Build Thread

Yea I need to get some kinda gismo to read my charge level. But really all I will use at first will be the Fantastic Fan,LED lights, and charge a phone or tablet. Eventually I will get a 12v fridge and the charge level issue will be more important. Right now the batteries charge from the running...

    Cargo Trailer Build Thread

I’ll spend a good amount of time in the Southeast, which means trees and shade. Therefore I think a portable system will serve me better. 400w is getting a little bulky and unmanageable for portable panels.

    I bought a cargo trailer

Yes. I got that about a year ago.  ARE fiberglass shell with some racks on top for my canoe and kayak. Solo it’s fine as is. But I needed a bit more for the better half.
