    Thousand Trails & Cargo Trailers?

OP, it seems you’re obsessed with the cargo trailer because of the durability you’ve read about, which is probably true. But look at it like this: you are stuck in the NE which is not friendly to non-factory type rv’s. Just buy a decent used factory rv to use for a few years and fix whatever...

Just Facts: Transits, ProMasters and Cargos

I think that they will all be similar in warranty, reliability, availability of service, and cost since you are buying new. I’m focusing on the Transit high top because I’m 6’4” tall and want the headroom. I also want a shower/toilet room. The class b manufacturers build on all these models so...

How did you get your van?

Anyone see any possible flood vans during their search? There have been a ton of flooded vehicles from various floods throughout the US in recent years. I wonder how many are dried out, sold used and the new owner finds problem after problem?

    Toilet Arrived!

Does that have an elongated seat? Hard to tell but looks like it.

    High Top

Just curious, did you price a top from TCI? If I remember correctly they have the tops with the steel tube frame for rollover protection.

    High Top

Thanks for the detailed info. I also live in VA so this gives me an affordable option to add a top to a regular height van.

Opinion on 05 GMC Savanna 80k miles 10ft cube onan, dually, heat, roof AC barn doors

That is an awesome truck for a build! Very easy to remove the interior cabinets, they're just bolted in. Sliding door through to the cab is great. I would seriously consider it. Licensing it should not be hard since it's for private use.

    Ambulances for Nomads?

Most ambulances are driven hard, as in "drive it like you stole it" hard! The ones I drove as a medic in the city weren't retired until they were pretty much all but dead.

Ford E350 Extended with Fiberine Super Camper Top

Nice!! What did it cost to have the top installed? Do you think the perforated vinyl on the windows lowers the temperature and uv rays better than limo tint?

    Hitching made easy or waste?

The ad for the hitchrific mentions it's for atv's, utility and boat trailers but doesn't mention rv's. I couldn't find a weight rating on the website. I would go with the $10 tennis ball setup in conjunction with a backup camera. This should allow you to get the ball right under the coupler with...

    Escape pods

I've considered building exactly what you describe above. Build out an old moving trailer into a very comfortable full time rv with a drop down in the rear for a garage. Only problem is the length, they won't fit in most rv parks and state/national parks. Only place it would fit is in the...

    Upgrading to a bus.

About a year ago I contacted my long time agent (Farm Bureau Insurance) asking about insuring a bus. He could find no underwriters that would insure a former school bus in VA, and the DMV won't retitle a vehicle as an RV like other states will. The other day I emailed AIS Insurance because they...

Wanted: 4 x 4 Van, Bus Or Other

Also, you probably don;t need a 4X4 from what it sounds like. A 2WD truck or van will get better mileage, have a greater carrying capacity and less parts to worry about maintaining/breaking than a 4X4. If you set up a 2WD with a locker rear end and possibly a winch you should be able to go off...

“Good deals” on food, share your tips

I get the pre-packaged salads at the grocery store (Harris Teeter) for lunch throughout the week at work. When they are within a day or two of the "Use By" date the store puts a sticker on them discounting them $3.00. I get them for $3.99 this way for a huge salad with all the fixings. Just...

    Trash left in Cottonwood AZ

Every year they have a "Clean The Bay" day in this area where thousands of volunteers go through the Chesapeake Bay and all the tributaries of it and pick up trash. They get TONS of trash, everything for plastics, paper, normal household waste, appliances, tires.....the list is endless.

    Trash left in Cottonwood AZ

A big problem everywhere, country or city, is people dumping trash illegally because they don't want to take it to the proper disposal area (dump, transfer stations, dumpster, etc). I live in a urban area and pretty much every vacant lot or patch of woods has some type of dumped trash on it...
