Loud Music at the RTR - split from Summer RTR 2017

Oh yeah... Bad things!! Like a few people strumming a guitar! The Horror! It's funny. There are like a thousand people here being nice to each other and having fun. All the people with negative comments (aside form Bob's video) seem to be typing the from their computer somewhere far away.

Loud Music at the RTR - split from Summer RTR 2017

DannyB1954: Yeah, there were people playing guitars and singing. Pretty quietly. I was parked the first 4 days pretty close to the main camp fire and people played some music there. It wasn't especially loud. They didn't play late. A few other people here and there were sitting outside their...

    uploading pictures degradation

Use Imgur or Flickr. Imgur is the quickest/simplest. You don't need to make an account or anything. Flickr probably compresses your pictures less and has tons of sizing options. AFAIK, Photobucket is an old piece of crap. It's better to host your pictures somewhere other than the forum server...

Loud Music at the RTR - split from Summer RTR 2017

I really think all this fuss is crazy. I've been at this RTR the whole time and I haven't heard a single person being loud. There are, I don't know, 500-1,000 people here and they are essentially all being super nice. No bad bad bad things are happening. Just people on the internet (most of...

    FALCON'S ODYSSEY

New blog post:Joshua Tree I camped a few days in Joshua Tree National Park. Didn't do a whole lot. Jut one bike ride and one hike. Got this nice picture on the hike:

What's The Name of Your Rig?

Other people kept telling me I needed to name my van. I didn't really care. My brother was one of those. He thought I should name it Ranger. In it's previous life, my van belonged to someone with a boat-related company and they had a couple big "ranger boats" stickers on the windows, which have...

who has the best cell and internet

This question is not even up for debate. For people traveling outside of cities, especially in the western half of the U.S. Verizon is the best by a long shot. You can get Verizon service through resellers (with less expensive plans), you just have to figure out which resellers/phones/plans use...

    RTR 2017 pictures

Just to prevent any potential confusion - that's not my trailer. The people it belong to are really nice though

    RTR 2017 pictures

Sorry I was in your sunset. That was me on top of the trailer. I'm taking quite a few pictures, including a series of rig shots. It'll be quite a while before I get to sorting through them and have them ready to post

    FALCON'S ODYSSEY

No problem. I sit on a 5-gallon bucket. I put it upside down (so the flat side is up for me to sit on) and put a pillow on top of it. Either one of those "neck pillows" that people use on airplanes, or a normal, uhh, sleeping pillow from my bed. I recently bought a small camping chair. It's less...

    Rate my solar

7/10. If you don't use the laptop much, it should be enough for your needs. You're a bit misbalanced IMO, with a lot of battery Amp Hours and comparatively low solar power. So, to improve it, add more solar panels.

    FALCON'S ODYSSEY

Ok, I spent 7 weeks in San Diego. I'll make at least two posts about it. Here's the first one: San Diego: Notes on the City It's supposedly "America's Finest City". But is it though?

    FALCON'S ODYSSEY

Yeah, I don't like having so many pictures on one page. It makes loading the page annoying for me on 3g. I'm going to try posting only one picture per post, and the rest will be in the blog post. The pictures I post here are nearly thumbnail size as far as current web picture sizing goes...

    RTR Bulletin Board

I have for sale: Little Buddy heater. It works great. I've used it very little. I guess I don't mind being cold so much. Nikon D90 Camera body. Well used but in great shape. 30k actuations (most of these are good for 100k). I got a newer camera so I don't use it anymore. I used this camera for...

    GPS Puzzle

I wish we could get everyone to switch to using only decimals format for coordinates. It's so much easier than degrees, minutes, and seconds. That will probably happen right after we all switch to metric :-D
