non-internet media database?

Just thought of another option. I have one of these boxes and it works quite well. It has a TV tuner and can record off-air TV with the addition of a USB hard drive. You can also set up a record schedule. It will also play videos that are stored on the hard drive. If you have several videos in a...

    non-internet media database?

Getting back on track, hopefully. The simplest solution for the OP is to get a media player. Here's one on Amazon: Micca Speck G2 Media Player One limiting factor is maximum drive size is 2TB. Another is an Android TV Box like this one: Android TV Box It comes with Kodi installed...

    non-internet media database?

The VOB format is Mpeg 2. It is an early form of video compression. Mpeg 4 is more recent and a more efficient form of compression. An Mpeg 4 file contains video and audio. It also can include sub-titles. I agree that leaving the video file in the VOB format is the best approach to maintain...

    non-internet media database?

This is not a KODI or Plex issue. It's a hardware issue with the Raspberry Pi. VOB files are Mpeg 2 and the Pi does not play Mpeg 2 unless you purchase a license to unlock the Mpeg 2 decoder. I think it costs less then $5 for the license. You may want to try transcoding a VOB file using...

Want 6v Trojan AGM Deep Cycles - help?

If you can deal with the weight of each battery (128 lbs), you might want to consider Renogy 12 volt AGM available at Walmart for $339.99 each: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Renogy-Deep-Cycle-AGM-Battery-12-Volt-200Ah/900928791

    12 volt TV's

The power rating on the label is typically a maximum. The actual consumption will be about half of the maximum. I have a 32" Vizio TV and use an inverter to power it. The TV draws 1.7 amps on the 12 volt side with the backlight brightness set on low. Varying the backlight has a big effect on...

    Faucet Hose Adapter

A Camco Water Bandit and Multi Clamp allow you to attach a garden hose to many faucets that have no threads or have damaged threads. The Multi Clamp will keep it attached while under pressure. http://www.camco.net/water-bandit-22484 http://www.camco.net/multi-clamp-bilingual-39103

Van being stored for three months. What to do with batteries.

I migrate to Florida for 6 months during the winter. I have a pickup truck and two motorcycles that remain home in Minneapolis in an unheated garage. I make sure batteries are fully charged and disconnect them. Temps can hit -20F. I have had no problems. One winter I had a cheap Harbor Freight...

What type of outdoor rug do you have?

    The 9' x 12' Walmart one that I have folds up to 36 x 12 x 4 Inches. The 6' x 9' version obviously would fold up much smaller.

Looking for ideas on how to install solar on an 1987 Happy Van

I don't have a separate question or problem, at least about solar. To clarify (hopefully). The OP currently has 2 panels and is considering adding 2 more of the same. He also is contemplating going with flexible panels and getting rid of the rigid ones. He never mentions mixing 12 and 24 volt...

Mounted solar panel or portable, pro's and con's

I mounted two of my three panels on the side of my coach. They can be tilted up or removed. When setting them on the ground they will tip over in strong wind. The glass is tempered and will not break unless it hits a sharp object such as a rock. I don't know if this would work for a truck...

Looking for ideas on how to install solar on an 1987 Happy Van

I think you misunderstand what I'm saying. All three of my panels are 12 volt nominal. I agree that you can not mix 12 volt and 24 volt panels. Adding a 24 volt panel to a 12 volt system would reduce the wattage of the 24 volt panel by 50% if you do not run it through a MPPT controller.

Looking for ideas on how to install solar on an 1987 Happy Van

Granted the best option is to have identical panels. When connecting panels of different wattage in parallel the panel voltages should be the same. If the voltages are different the output voltage will tend to be pulled down to that of the panel with the lowest voltage. Typical Vmp ratings vary...
