Good advice for coping with changing Covid regulations

Not political at all. Just personal. I don't think anyone has a problem if you want to wear a mask. You got to take care of you. Good tips in that article for those who need to take extra precautions.

Covid climate out there in 2022?

I did my first multi month trip in 2020, June-Sep along the Appellation mountains from ME-TN. The peak of craziness. I never wore a mask outdoors and would only throw one on when going in populated buildings. Though I did find benefit waring a masks in some outhouses. lol I didn't have a single...

How do you people do it? Having a pet cat

I don't. Whish I could but they will eventually get sick and die. Cats are easy however so probably the best travel option.

How do you carry, if you carry a gun?

Very true, 100% agree. Especially when its on display. But the question was phrased "WHY would you advertise that you are armed in your van/bus". So I didn't connect it to the shotgun show and tell. lol In these times its always best to conceal and don't tell a soul.

How do you carry, if you carry a gun?

Interesting. I didn't see anyone suggest this but simply having a thread like this basically does. Why? As a deterrent would be my guess. Its like me advertising my truck has cameras and audio recording, it acts as a deterrent.

    CT Health Insurance. But why?

Definitely going to roll the dice and just save the insurance cost every month to pay for prescriptions. Thanks guys!

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

Nope, still the case. Tribes are sovereign. But yeah, tons of regulations in many states. HOA's are terrible, I don't understand why one would live in one. But plenty of states with little to no forced regulations, but many wouldn't want to live there. lol

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

We seem to have forgotten how successful communities/tribes have been. None of it has to do with politics, nor it it relevant to 100 acres in the middle of nowhere with no restrictions. The most successful tribes have been around for tens of thousands of years and they helped create the US and...

How do you carry, if you carry a gun?

If I have a firearm (revolver/Semi) I will conceal carry it on my belt when possible, or open carry where required. I will rarely if ever leave my firearm in the vehicle unattended, but if I do my vehicle is well alarmed. Long guns usually would be stored in a lockbox out of view. Don't need...

    CT Health Insurance. But why?

I have always had health insurance through work but if/when I decide to go on the road full time that will end. Apparently you need to go through your particular state, which is odd since I wont know where I will be from month to month and whos to say where i will need my insurance. I am also...

    best minimalist sleeping pad?

Nice, that self inflating mattress is very similar to the Therm-a-Rest I have but cheaper and a higher R-Value. How's the durability so far?

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

Some states have very few zoning laws. Especially the more remote you are. If I buy 100 acres in WV I can build anything I want. I can invite all nomads to stay and live and they can build teeny homes or live right out of there van.

    best minimalist sleeping pad?

A quality option i use since sleep is so important is the Therm-a-Rest BaseCamp Sleeping pad. Its nice and thick, wide and long for 1 person. Awesome insulation (6 R value) but its over $100. I needed this for the cold camping I do plus its needs to roll up small. Otherwise you can do just...

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

Well that's clearly not the idea here, but a valid concern if focusing on ones self. A tribe of people working together to form a co-housing community is a lot different than a town/city for profit and control. O and you wont be able to resupply, you will need to be part of the community to...

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

Possibly, but hoping for one better. To be part of them, uphold there traditions and have the benefit of there protections.

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

There may be a way around this. Need to have a meeting with some Native Americans.

    Forming an Intentional Community/split

I couldn't read through Sky's very long run-on sentence too well, but I think I get the gist. I have been pondering a good way to create a small cooperative community for a while now too. But the key is having the proper foundation for it and I think there may be a few options. But boy has...

any Gamers in our midst (including Hidden Object & Puzzles)?

Been playing Skyrim for about a year, but it does not have a true co-op or multiplayer. My multi player favorites are COD and Diablo, mostly play on Xbox. O how i enjoyed D&D back in the day. Hard to find a DM nowadays.

Need some help and ideas-4x4 camper conversion

I'm a 4Runner fan and love mine for all the adventuring i have been doing. Tons of mods available too. But tankless water heater? Window or rooftop AC unit? That's a tall order for a 4x4, even for a full size RV.

How much power do I need starting out?

Likely your vehicle battery and driving around should be enough power. I do multi week/month adventuring in my 4Runner with the addition of a 26000mAh Anker power pack that has been enough. But just recently added a large capacity AGM battery to replace the old OEM. Gives me plenty of extra...
