    Travel Blender

I haven't had any solid food since February and have been having smoothies twice daily.I bought this from Amazon and it works well, both on 110v in the trailer and on the modified sine wave inverter in the van. It's a pain to clean if I procrastinate: Smoothie Blender, Fochea 300W Professional...

Difficulties w/ New Mexico medical care-complex conditions

I live here and have a disabled son here in TorC. I lived in Phoenix and Tucson for 24 years and abhor Phoenix. I merely dislike Tucson. I would go to Las Cruces, but for the fact that they dont have anesthesia 24/7 and other perquisites that a big city trauma center has. I've personally seen...

    Swivel Seats and Warranty

After much trepidatio, after paying $544 in advance by check for the swivel and shipping from SwivelsRUS (they only work via email), our swivel for Hubby's Nissan NV was delivered yesterday. Not wanting to invoke Murphy's Law, I won't post anything else about it until after Hubby installs...

Difficulties w/ New Mexico medical care-complex conditions

Oh, I forgot to mention that you will need to bring your own food and drink. I was brought one meal in the 43 hours I was there. Thankfully, Hubby brought me food. Did I say sonething about Third World hospital care? Ted

Difficulties w/ New Mexico medical care-complex conditions

I saw that Bob Wells put out a video about the New Mexico State Park annual pass. It is a great deal and overall, as long as you are okay with some run down conditions in some parks (what do you want for so cheap?). But, if you have complicated medical issues requiring multiple specialists, if...

    Ready to run

Hubby and I each have a Nissan NV 2500 & 3500 (we travel together and separately). We didn't wand a Ford (Found On the Road Dead), an expensive Sprinter or a Fiat (Promaster). The vans come with a 5 year/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, so far are problem free and have a huge, comfortable...

I'M DUMPING MY TRUCK AT THE BANK-WESTLAKE FINANCIAL IN LOS ANGELES

Hey Mario, Your credit already sucks. With your type of income, you are not not "judgement proof", but you are "collection proof". And if they can't serve you (good luck with that if you're international or mobile), they can't arrest you on a bench warrant. Or, if you want to play nice, let the...

I will officiate at your wedding/handfasting-gratis

Hey Wabbit, yes, generally the officiant is supposed to bring the completed license to get recorded. Not in New Mexico, though. But, if the newly married couple wants/needs me to do that, they need to drive me to the courthouse (wherever that may be) and buy Hubby and me lunch or dinner. My van...

I will officiate at your wedding/handfasting-gratis

I recently had to find a wedding officiant on short notice for a simple wedding with only the witnesses. I was able to find someone, but it was irritating that the ceremony could only be performed by a minister or judge. That was a pain and I said to myself, "Self, there has to be an easier...

    Curious

I have never shaved my legs as I'm pretty blonde. My pits? Every couple of months, especially if I'm going sleeveless, I use one of those pen-shaped $10 battery powered shavers. If someone doesn't like it, don't look at me. It's their hang-up, not mine. Ted

Amazon and General Delivery do not mix.

We've been in Phoenix for medical care and while we have been here, I've been having things delivered to Amazon Lockers. If it is too large for a locker, often I'll buy online at Wal-Mart or Home Depot and pick it up there. We also use my kids' addresses to receive large items. Where we are in...

    Solar Powered Fridge

Both Hubby's and my vans have the 4.6cu ft Truckfridge (Indel B, Vitifrigo, Isotherm). Not cheap, but they make life so much more pleasant, with ice in the freezer to make Hubby his Bloody Mary's..  Ted

Optimal height above the roof for solar panels

Why not both? We have the two 180 watt panels on the roof rack in front of the fan. And the van has a side panel to catch the morning sun If it's needed. Usually not though, even though we daily use the fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hot pot for my tea. Today we took in well over a...

    Towing? Why or why not?

I'm currently in AZ in our cargo van conversion while the .trailer is in NM. I believe that we have the best of both worlds. We tow the trailer to parks and places where we know that we'll be able to find a place to park it and use it as the base camp-and cheap. Or, we take off in the van...

What will you always have in your camp kitchen

Coffee, coffee pot, water and milk for the coffee. A cup is good. Everything else is gravy. Ted

    Fully charge

What has been priceless to me is both my battery monitor (Victron) and my wholly programmable Victron charge controllers, all on bluetooth. I can change settings on the fly and often fiddle-fart around with it to micromanage my batteries. Since my batteries are inside and AGM, I make sure that...

Sportsman 800 generator on sale at home depot

I have the Ryobi 700/900watt propane generator ($250 when I got it). I didn't want to deal with carrying gasoline in the van or trailer. I also didn't want to deal with hassles of gasoline. Between the trailer and the 11# gas cylinders I use separately for the Wave 3, I carry 82# of propane when...

    Charging deep cycle battery?

Sorry, wrong thread. In hospital and not thinking too straight. Ted

    Dual Battery

Hi Rahvin, We have two NVs, but chose to install larger battery banks in the rear. But plenty of NV people have gotten a larger battery tray, flipped the orientation of the current battery and then added another battery. Same type, age, condition (unless you don't mind dragging the new battery...

Length of hose for propane heater for van build?

Keep in mind that the longer the hose, the longer it will take to consume all the gas in that line after you close the valve to turn it off. I have a 12ft hose on my grill and it takes 15+ minutes for the grill to shut off from my closing the valve. Ted
