Deep cycle batteries vs power pack

If you're in Canada check out CanBat. They have LiFePo4 batteries that can charge/discharge below freezing.  Probably expensive right now but the tech will become more pervasive in the next few years.

    Cell coverage practically anywhere?

May sound silly, but you can sit/stand on your van roof in an emergency. It might get you a bit of extra elevation to get signal. For emergency use only.

Wynter 45 Quart Price Check at Aisle 1 Please

You may want to look into the larger 310 -410 Watt panels. Much more energy dense. I believe they are only about 2x the size of the 100W panels. I think Santan Solar has a good deal on them.

    Looking for opinions on heaters

As do I. I just finished watching his ammo can wood/pellet stove/oven build. I'd like to build one of those.

I came up with an invention for a van...the trailer hitch garden

If you could build/buy something like this Small Greenhouse it would travel fine. Especially if you were able to add a pair of tie downs to your rear doors and strap it in place for travel.   :)

    Cot recommendations

They have 2 nice cots available on Colemans.com . They sell military surplus. The Euro one is $40 - 77"x28"x20"h. Folds to 1.25". They also carry those wool blankets HDR talks about. Nice warm sleeping bags too.

Anywhere to get 4'x8' sheets of cardboard locally?

If foam core boards would work you can usually get decent size sheets, about 20x30 inches, at the Dollar Tree for $1. You can cut and tape or cut and hot glue them together. They benefit from rigid structure vs cardboard. Not free, but inexpensive for mockups.

I came up with an invention for a van...the trailer hitch garden

I've considered this in the past. You might be best off planting in Rubbermaid type totes with drainage holes drilled in the bottom. Lay down some weed block (Dollar Tree) over the holes and tape in place with duct tape. Gover with about an inch of packing peanuts or broken up styrofoam. This...

Anywhere to get 4'x8' sheets of cardboard locally?

I've gotten large sheets from Costco and BJs/Sams Club. Theyre about 4x4 foot. Theyre used on pallets to seperate layers. There's also a thinner version that might be helpful for other templating.

    Good rechargable headlamp

You can also get lithium rechargeable AA & AAA batteries. They usually charge via usb. A good review here: They cost a few dollars up front but last a long time per charge and charge quickly. Maybe get 2 sets and a small Anker powerbank to charge your cellphone and the batteries if you aren't...

Using a 120 vac Dorm Fridge

If you buy it at Costco definitely get the extended warranty, then replacement will cost nothing for approx 3-5 years. Many other places also.

Max temperature of polyethylene water tank?

It's certainly possible to do what you're looking to do. George over at Humble Road, a custom van builder out of New Jersey, has done it in his last two or three vans. I believe he uses an Ecotemp heat exchanger and a small expansion tank. His videos go into the process a bit. He is likely...

Fleas?? Eggs? Ever use normal isoprpyl alchohol?

Food grade Diatomaceus Earth works like a charm. I got mine on Amazon. Its very lightweight, so a 4 lb package is more than enough. Maybe a hardware or pet store will also carry it locally. Totally non toxic. Also good around the campsite. Sprinkle it around liberally. I use a very fine mesh...

280AH LiFePo4 Batteries Direct From Manufacturer

Just came across this new Will Prowse video for a DIY solar generator. Looks good to me. It's on a smaller scale, but worth a look.

280AH LiFePo4 Batteries Direct From Manufacturer

I've been wondering if you could use a 12v heating mat(s) on a switch and a cooler or foam insulation to charge during daytime. I would think it wouldn't use too much power and it's during the power generation phase. I watched a video where a guy used a similar mat in a 3 gal water heater...
