The Conversion of Hannah (A School Bus)

Congrats, David. I know from what I saw of your creativity using every space in your car that this is going to turn out great. Another "Don't Do This Tip": Watch a pool game from behind the rack in a small space. Getting smacked in the kisser with the butt of the cue wasn't the most fun I've...

    6' ceiling clearance

My E350 Ford cargo van with added hi-top technically is not a Class B, but it's about the same size. Various height hi-tops are available new or might be found used; some are insulated, some are not. Mine is 18" and with 1 1/4" of flooring I get 6'1" in the front area graduating down to 5'11"...

    Welcome to the RTR!

I would like to give a big "Thank You!" to all the wonderful people who helped me get my house electrical up and running while I was at RTR.  I brought most everything, but I rightly guessed there would be little things I didn't know about and I knew that (for me) slow and steady would get the...

    E-250 stealth conversion

Hi Daminc, good to hear from you! Your van work is spectacular. The cab looks so organized with a place for everything - just great. I thought about redoing my doghouse console area, too, but I ended up making a swivel table for the passenger seat instead. We're about to stretch a cargo net...

    Simple system solar supplies

Thanks, Brian. Yeah, that panel weighs 34 lbs. I'm going to experiment wheeling it around with a little cart. I dont think storing it in the van will be a problem but time will tell. I'm tempted to go with 8 and pare it down at the controller, especially if it will allow me to upgrade some...

    Simple system solar supplies

On the way to RTR I'll be picking up a 190w jtm190-72 mono panel, Midnite Solar Kid 30-amp mppt charge controller and 50' of cable w/mc4 connectors for a 20'+ portable run.  This will be my first battery charging system.  I may add the van alternator later, but that's another day. The...

Advice please on used Centennial DC8D batteries

@29chico ~ Thanks! I did not even know about those. I called and revised my order. For some reason there was no core charge with these, so though the battery cost was more, the overall extra was only $6 each, but the warranty doubled! Here's a blurb about them from the Trojan website...

    Bed canopy anyone?

To help with the moisture issue: I filled several socks with silica kitty litter and tucked them around the van.  I think they really help.  They can last through several cycles of absorption/drying.  Since I don't really know how many that is, I'm just waiting until it feels like they're not...
