    Audiobooks anyone?? Updates, suggestions?

This isn't really audio books, but rather the works of H.P. Lovecraft done in the style of old 1930's radio dramas. https://store.hplhs.org/collections/dark-adventure-radio-theatre

Kia Soul ... it can be done

About two-and-a-half years ago, RetiredNomad traded his Kia Soul for a Nissan NV 2500 and really hasn't posted much since. https://vanlivingforum.com/showthread.php?tid=20845 I also road-trip in a Kia Soul, though I'm not a full timer. Here's a ink to my build thread...

    Review: Gamma Bucket Lid

Zip ties are the other way around. UV resistant zip ties are black, whereas white zip ties have no UV resistance at all. I don't know about other colors though. I know I'm a little off topic here, but this just struck me as odd.

    AFTER THE RTR

Interested in Caravaning after the RTR? Sure. Able to? No. I've got two days after the RTR before I need to be back in California. I could only get so much time off of work.

Hola from SoCal - rebel sprinter van

Welcome Ginny! I'm also a So Cal resident. South Orange County is my usual stomping ground. I'm not a full timer. I'm a road tripper who lives in a sticks and bricks condo and vacations in my car. Have fun in your travels!

    My Road Tripper

I was having a hard time finding the holes I drilled for attachment points for my rubber bungees, so I added several t-nuts as reference points for finding them. I also added duvatyne covers to the sides of the shelves. This will make the contents of the shelves far less visible from the...

    My Road Tripper

I carpeted the shelf unit using scraps of leftover black carpet from the orchestra pit at work. The primary purpose of the carpet is so that to the casual passerby glancing in the window, the shelf looks like something that belongs in the car. I've strapped it to the folded down seat back...

    My Road Tripper

Now we move on to the actual accomplishment. As I've mentioned in previous posts, trying to organize my gear storage has been a bit of challenge since I have very little space to work with. Over the last two days I built a custom shelf unit for my Road Tripper. The odd shape is because the...

    My Road Tripper

Okay, so this isn't really an accomplishment, just something I happened to catch at the right time.

How do you toast your bread

Here's what I use. It's easy to use and doesn't take up a lot of space. I got mine at Walmart.

    My Road Tripper

I installed a dash cam in my road tripper today. It's the type that mounts to the rear view mirror. It took about two hours to install the thing, about half of which was modifying the power supply so that I could tap directly into the car's power system rather than plugging into a 12 volt...

Pop up camper , are there wise and safe ?

I just camp in my car. It took a bit of work to get it to the point where I could live out of it for a few weeks at a time, but it's actually quite comfortable. At last year's RTR, one of my RTR neighbors flew down then rented a Budget cargo van and bought some camping gear when he got to...

    First time electric build

Something else you should do is take measurements of your roof to figure out how much space you have available for solar panels. If there are any roof vents or other items, or if you plan to add roof vents or other items, you need to take these into account. If necessary, break the roof down...

    Property Taxes

If you think property taxes are bad, try association dues! I own a condo in Southern California. My association dues are almost double the amount of my property taxes. Frankly, I think I get more benefits from the property taxes than the association dues.

    I want a van

Just make sure you're prepared to buy it twice. You'll probably need to put $2k to $4k towards repairs in the first year that you own it, even if it's been well maintained.
