    Are most Vehicle Dwellers Single

Ah the dog! Mans best friend. I don't know when or where I heard it but it explained why the dog is mans best friend. It goes something like this...... "Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk for an hour and see who is happy to see you when you open it"

    the real me

To my knowledge the only U.S. made factory 4wd van was the Chevy Pathfinder back in maybe the 70's. Toyota had a 4wd van for a short while in the late 80s I think? Quigley 4wd is factory authorized by Ford and GM to convert the Transit and Express/Savana vans. You can order from Ford/GM as you...

Bob, a thought came to me today. What is the possibility and feasibility of having a dumpster on site as well? Would be real convenient.

CANCELLED Summer 2017 RTR in Flagstaff CANCELLED!!!

I didn't make the winter RTR but was there last June for the summer event and it's a good possibility I will make this one again also. Looking forward to it! I'm confident this good group of people will donate more than enough to cover costs of permits and portable toilets for the event. See you...

The eclipse in August crosses the continent from Oregon to South Carolina. It wont be seen in the northeast.

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

Cobleskill is in NY. It's right of I-88 which is an interstate that goes from Albany, NY to Binghamton, NY. I believe exit 20 is the closest exit to NEVR. The dates are May 18-22ish. No problem with early arrival or later stay. I chose those dates because there is a burn ban in the area till...

    Massachusetts

I personally know of two firemen with pensions of 110k and 195k per year, also a government employee getting 10k per month tax free. I'm not knocking them either. Power to them for taking advantage of the system as it is. However I also don't think its right. Your pension shouldn't be more than...

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

No, the SE GTG is Cuzzn Dyck. Met up with him when I was in FL January. I'm trying to put together a NE GTG as I am NY based. Officially to not conflict with cuzn Dyck and his GTG or Bob Wells with his RTR I came up with NEVR. North East Vandwellers Rendezvous. If all goes well in 2017 then...

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

I'm looking at around May 18-22ish. There is a burn ban until May 14th. Right now I have a location that will handle about a dozen vans. I'm going to check out another location that is bigger in a week or two. Anyone that is definitely likely to attend I would appreciate a PM. I'd like to start...

    Won't make it Full Time

These doctors make their diagnosis based on us living a conventional normal life by societies standards. But lucky for us we spend as much time in nature which has its own healing properties. My neighbor was given 6 months to live over 30 years ago. He bought property in the mountains and built...

    Internet: satellite, ham radio

For used equipment go to the ARRL website and search "hamfest". They are swap meets for ham radio enthusiasts. Maybe there is one near you.

    Internet: satellite, ham radio

I have my General ticket since I think 2009. Haven't taken HF on the road yet but it is on the list to set up. I think it's a good idea to have at least a Technician license and a 2 meter radio. Nice clear communication. If enough vandwellers got licensed it would be a great communication...

    Gas pumps going online now.

Seen them here in NY also. "GSTV" , gas station TV. A met a guy who sold advertising for them. Mostly local news weather and lots of ads.

    Roof vent installation?

HAHA!!! I thought that meant the van was a her!! LOL!

    Roof vent installation?

Certainly an RV dealer/repair shop would do it but they probably charge north of $100/hr labor. Hopefully you have a handy vandweller close by that would help you out. That's what this community is all about.

North East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone (NY?)?

In my experience at this location they aren't a problem usually till about Memorial day. Of course it's all weather dependent. Maybe this blizzard we just had will put a good killing on bugs for that time or maybe it will supply the moisture needed for them all to come to life. Every season has...

Go to the Bogart Engineering website and download the manual for the SC-2030 charger. Read section 6.2

    Below the floor battery box...

If I remember correctly mine is 1/8" steel. 2 pieces bent to overlap and hang from the 3/4" plywood floor. Being 2 piece all 4 corners of the box are vented top to bottom by design as there is a ~1/4" gap at the overlap. For 2 6v batteries 1//8" is overkill. I stole the design from my previous...

[split] South East coast vandwellers- RTR anyone? (Past)

Sounds like the thread is wandering off topic. Also sounds like an interesting self sustaining thread!
