Forgive me if the answer is obvious but I am having trouble googling it.

I bought a camper van and am now planning to empty the tanks. There was no manual provided with it and looking over the van I see a "Sewer Hose" on one side and a "Sewer Outlet" on the other.

Frankly I am...
I recently purchased a car charger for my laptop to hook into my 12 Volt sockets. For some reason the charger charges the laptop when it is closed but if I am using it it charges it for a few seconds then cuts off. Is this the charger or something to do with the RV/12 volt power.<br...
I have found that everyone I know who has tried going wheat-free has improved. My friends lost weight. My mother's blood pressure dropped to normal range for the first time in her life. My father's blood sugar went down.

I believe the issue is compounded by the fact...
I am. I follow the perfect health diet: http://perfecthealthdiet.com/ which is a version of Paleo. My health was at one of it all time lows when I decided to eat "healthy" by following the USDA recommendations of lots of whole grains. Sick...
Hey all,

As some of you recently saw I just purchased a Class B in good shape. It's electricity is taken from a 12 Volt house battery. There are a few 12 volt outlets around the RV. As I would rather not redo everything my question is would a 12 Volt be enough to run off of?
<br...
Now that I am the proud new owner of a camper van, and I have moved on from the planning stages, I wanted to know what the consequences for stealth camping/boon docking are if caught.

What should I be ready for if I am caught on a grocery store parking lot for example after it is...
From what I understand all the outlets work only when I am hooked up and the 12 volt batter only works for the lights.

If I correct this, is 12 volt enough to run general electronics with a converter?
Mechanic gave the okay. Bought it earlier this morning. I am happy with the purchase.

The main things I need to adjust is to get a separate battery for electricity. The van only has a 12 volt and the outlets only work when hooked up.
Thanks everyone!

Any guesses about what the van is worth? I took a look at it yesterday and it seems in good condition. The owner left it sitting for a year however and already had to do some fixes. Waiting on what the mechanic says.

It also has that old car smell but I...
I am considering buying this van:

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/rvs/3272692650.html

To my limited knowledge it looks like a good one.

Is the price right? Should I be wary...
Like most people on this forum I would I imagine, I an in love with the idea of not paying rent. Living in an RV succeeds in this and through it cuts out one of the highest expenses of living.

However, I started thinking and I realized RV owners have their own...
Thanks for the response mockturtle.

I see you have a 24ft RV. Do you have any trouble finding parking in cities/towns or do you usually stay at campgrounds/in the wild?
From what I understand you can legally park a vehicle on the street as long as it is 21 feet or under.

The question then becomes should you get an RV/Van that is under 21 feet to benefit from this. In theory, I would like knowing I can "technically" park anywhere but I want to...
I assume its gas mileage, how drive-able it is and honestly the hassles I imagine you would find just parking it. I have also read that they were not built well.
Thanks for the responses all.

bk2value: I have been reading over Glenn's website and the Chinook looks like something I would be interested in. Unfortunately the ones on sale seem to be in the $30,000 range which is also very high.

How old should I be willing to go? I am...
Hey all,

I am exploring options and looking for a Class B 21 foot or under (I would like it to fit in a parking space and not get cited) RV. I have always been frugal and have been lucky enough to save a good amount but some of the prices on these are INSANE. I am a firm believer...
It seems the more I read the more my original concept of stealth is changing. Here (http://www.tosimplify.net/p/rig.html) a man has been stealth camping with almost no hassle in a Chinook Concourse (No Stealth). There (<a...
