    Tell me what I need!

Don't think I need that anymore, Stern. :P But thanks for the chuckle. Right now, I'm 99% certain I can get away with 500ah of batteries (using only 250ah) and have Propane for the heavy lifting. A single 3000 watt generator (maybe even 2000 watt) will supply the extra demand if needed, and up...

This Graphic Lists Over 200 Resources for Making Money Online

Interesting list! One way not mentioned previously, is if you're a good writer, throw up some good reads on Amazon Kindle for cheap and people will suck them up. If it's good, they'll leave reviews to get even more people to suck them up! Of course, it's competitive beyond belief and hard to do...

    Tell me what I need!

I noted previously that my combined wattage will be pulled down to about 2800 per day, no longer 5000 per day. How many panels/watts of solar will I need for that much? (Doubling that equal 5600 total per day, or just under 500ah.)

    Tell me what I need!

Thanks for the information, Bob! Just to clarify, I am intensely working on shaving off at least 2000 of those needed watts, to again cut my usage in half. Most of that power listed was when a printer is printing (which, again, is rare, and will be off most of the time) and with a Modem...

    Tell me what I need!

Tuscan: As in my previous posts, I have been writing down my wattage usage. I haven't had a chance to test out everything yet, but so far I'm not above 200w per hour on average. This would only be for 8 hours, then that wattage drops to below 100 watts, up to 220 watts (for 1.5 hours max)...

Do you use Technomadia's app "US Public Lands?"

Why not advertise for them? It's obviously a good app, and people should know about it. Just like how your big brother always liked that cool game and recommended it to his buds.

Military(?) guy in unmarked vehicle in NF.

You could always just ignore him and report him if need be. Unfortunately he's an a-hole, but it sounds like what he was doing is illegal (if he's not some sort of police of course...)

    Low Power Usage Computer

Actually very few SSD's have mSATA, and very few laptops support it. Chromebooks, from the ones I looked in, use regular HDD's and SSD's. EDIT: Though it appears a lot of the newer chromebooks are migrating to mSATA... That sucks.

    Tell me what I need!

Okay So I heard back from Zolargus finally, the company that sells panels on a solar tracker stand (very basic and simple system that looks good) and they quoted me $1000 for the 100w panel and the solar tracking stand... For some reason, I don't see it being worth that price. Here it is in...

UPDATE POST #7!!! PSA: FCC Public Comment Period For Net Neutrality

That's the problem--the user will end up paying more. But also, every website owner, such as Netflix, will also have to pay higher. So then they raise their rates, causing their customers to pay higher *again*. So, basically, the customer is paying for two cost hikes and the companies are paying...

    Tell me what I need!

I've used on before, and I think they're remarkable. Albeit you need proper pans, I would still use the eff outta it.

    Tell me what I need!

I said I'd prefer not to use Propane, but then later said I would use it until I didn't need it. That still stands currently. Also, induction cooktops take a lot less than normal cooktops and are more efficient which equals faster cooking, but the Amp draw is still the same and will still drain...

UPDATE POST #7!!! PSA: FCC Public Comment Period For Net Neutrality

Not collectively. The real problem is lack of knowledge that this is even happening... Too many people think this will not affect them in any possible way, and have no idea what's coming. Unfortunately, there's not a lot we can do. Luckily George Takei is taking a step against this and...

UPDATE POST #7!!! PSA: FCC Public Comment Period For Net Neutrality

I really doubt Google would let that happen. Google has huge plans for free fiber and nationwide "balloon" internet--they won't invest billions just to be told they can't do it.

    Tell me what I need!

@Bob: I'll be getting a smaller RV, specifically a Safari Trek, toward the end of the year. So it'll be a bit harder. I might need to find a way to create a rotational mount underneath the panels on the roof, plus a small lever to lift them. Shouldn't be *that* hard, right? ...right? @Stern...

    Tell me what I need!

@Technomadia: Thanks for the reply! I didn't mean to sound harsh if I did, just stating what I noticed. :) Thanks for the info on the batteries though, but for right now I think I will stick to AGM for the cost savings. They may not last as long, but by the time they are dead, LiFePO4 will...

    Playing the fuel points game

Wow, this sounds incredible if you need to refill your generator weekly! (which I may need to do.) Even better for those who travel around a whole lot; less valuable for those that don't get much gas (AKA off grid electric only and boondocking for long periods.) I may need to look into this, but...

    Tell me what I need!

so I did some testing with the Kill-a-Watt device, and got results far lower than I was expecting! So far here's what I have: For my entire work station when fully functional: 100 watts, 2.5 amps. Should go down when I get LED monitors. For the workstation when printing (less than a minute)...
