    Airstream Questions

I think you might be right, I think one of them is a scam. What are the chances two people would have the exact same throw pillows, and the same exact ads? One is in Northern CA and the other is in Indiana. The Indiana one has a starting bid a bit over $21k...

Advice Needed - Newbie Camper Lover - Love the Old Econolines

I love the Econolines. There was an Econline factory in my hometown (shut down in 2014). I'm partial to the ones from the 80's (I was born in 77 so the 80's models were what I grew up with). But...that one you're looking at is lovely too. A lot less rust than I would've expected given the age...

    2006 Town & Country build

Are the Grand Caravan/Town & Country reliable though? I've always heard that they tend to die at about 150k. Our old Grand Caravan (1992 I believe) had the transmission go out shortly after 150k. I'd love the Stow & Go option, but as I'm going to be buying used, I also want something that's not...

    Recommending Homesteading Forum Topic

Totally completely off-topic, but... My brother's nickname was Bobbert :D My grandmother always called him Bob, but he'd throw a fit and demand to be called Robert (which was his name). So eventually she just started calling him "Bobbert". I just got called "Hey you".

Click bait...getting tired of it on YouTube

Ramen is ok doctored up. But opening a pack sprinkling in seasoning and dumping the noodles in doesn't count as video worthy "gourmet cooking".

50 Ways to Make Extra Money

I've been working mTurk for about 4 months. It's not massive amounts of money, and it requires a good internet connection, but you can "turk" from a computer or your phone/ipad. I like it because it allows me to work while still being a stay-at-home parent to my toddler.

Click bait...getting tired of it on YouTube

Actually...I kinda hope you did offend someone, and that maybe they'll change their ways. Though, I think cooking on a campstove is an interesting twist on an otherwise standard cooking video, but if the "gourmet meal" is ramen noodles from a packet that ain't "gourmet" and it's barely even cooking.

Would you live in a van?

Is it "mainstream" or just a sign of the times and the horrible economy?

    Mornin'

Thank you for your service to the country :) Never be embarrassed about having all your limbs. There are lots of different ways to be disabled, and they're all valid.

A number of your videos I've liked well enough to watch multiple times. And/or to recommend to other people :) You definitely have quality videos.  (And the quality has definitely improved over time too.)

    Dispersed Camping Near San Jose?

Yikes. $30 seems pricey for the fairgrounds. I live in/near San Jose (Campbell), there's always a number of RVs parked near our apartment complex. Quite a few behind the Safeway as well. We even have a couple people that park vans IN our parking lots (gated community) but they are usually only...

vancamping, vandwelling, comfortcamping, vacationcamping, but all of it...

NY-Toronto-Toledo electric grid failure was 2003. I remember because I had just started a new job in Toledo Ohio. If you have a house in addition to your bugout vehicle, have you consider stocking up on fuel? There's ways to rotate your fuel supply so you can keep a fair number of gallons...

    Rust?

That'd be a yes then to road salt. Sounds like the a lot of the rusty bits are where we'd normally expect to see rust on an Ohio vehicle (lived in OH the first 37 years of my life), had my fair share of rust buckets for cars :) Have you check the underside of the van as well?  That was always a...

    Who is on Facebook?

You can create "close friends" and "family" groups when using facebook on the computer (as opposed to the phone).  On the left hand side of the screen, scroll down to where it says "Friends" and then chose the option for either "close friends" or "family".  It lets you create a custom group of...

Sometimes I think of strange things.....

I don't know about cooking dinner, but there are a number of former landfill sites that are set up to capture methane gas and use it to produce electricity.
