I'm glad to hear you're having good luck with your '14 AWD.
I just found a super-clean, 2014 Savana 1500 AWD with 98,000 miles for $23,000 (that's pretty normal for California) :s
I was thinking a mid-top, like Bob has, and a small lift might make it a very useable platform for my next...
That one is exactly the same design as the $86 Ozark from Walmart (& I do mean exactly). It's an exact copy.
I wonder if they're owned by the same company?
The Ozark gets terrible reviews.
I'm going to try insulating the lid of my Igloo Playmate with Refletix this weekend, then test the...
I just found this on YouTube. It shows a possible way to improve the performance of the Igloo Playmate coolers.
Pretty simple approach, but I wonder how well it will/would work if the cooler was kept inside the van and not out in direct sunlight.
I've been using Reflectix on the windows...
Though I don't have Lyme Disease myself, I know friends who do, and I'm totally tick paranoid and terrified of getting it. I've gone so far, as I did on my last road trip through 5 western states, as to carry Isopropyl Alcohol in a spray bottle on my hikes. If I even think I brushed up against...
I was just on the Oregon coast last week. I was surprised to find that easy beach access doesn't exist from Florence to Port Orford.
That's over 110 miles. :O
Pretty roads, but nothing to do.
North of Florence was great! Tons of beaches to explore.
I took a look at the 26 liter Ozark Trail cooler at Walmart today. It looked pretty nice, but I noticed it didn't have a drain at the bottom.
For $90 I want a drain so I don't have to empty it and tip it over on its side.
It looked like it sealed pretty good.
Thanks for the ideas/links. Something to look into. My Igloo Elite is 16 quarts, and that's really all the room I've ever needed or have space for.
I thought I remembered someone in this thread, after I told them what model I had, that the plastic Igloo coolers were the best, but that...
I just got home from a 3 week road trip through 5 western states, and I only averaged 1.5 - 2.0 days between ice replacements.
(I'm using one of those plastic Igloo coolers with the top that hinges at the sides so the whole lid falls to either side)
In addition to having to replace the ice...
I bought my 2010 TC about 4 years ago with 56,000 miles on it, and have since added another 30,000, mostly trouble-free.
The only thing I've had to replace that was pricey, was the front door latches ($331 each X 2). I was having a problem that I've read about a few times (but only a few) on...
Not a big fan of the paint scheme, but I like the vintage. I used to have a '63 Ford van with the engine "dog house" between the front seats like that.
I never thought about turning it into a camper, though.
Cool! Show us what you come up with and let us know how you like it.
I love my TC. I don't have all those seats, but I did intentionally keep things simple.
Lightly loaded, 65mph with no headwind, I get 26.6mpg. Approx. 20 - 22 in town.
Wow, it looks like the bulk of the impact hit right where you were sitting! Glad to see you're able to post about it, and not in ICU. Scary.
Time to buy a Lottery ticket.
Are you talking about the Pilot Travel Center at 2828 El Centro Rd? Is there a fee to park there?
Wow, on second thought, never mind. It gets terrible, gruesome reviews on Google Maps.
Were your friends unhappy because it wasn't health food, or because the lining of the can could leach into the meal when the can was set on a stove?
When I was younger, I used to put cans of soup or Pork-N-Beans (Yum!!), under the hood of my old car (out of the way of spark plugs / wires), and...
When I built my bed, I was an idiot and went to Tallman's House of Foam in Palo Alto Ca. where I payed $160 for a 6' X 36" piece of foam.
It's really good foam, but $160?! :s
