Very nice. 283 with a 3-speed?

No worries for smog on a '67?

Groovy! Starbucks van on Ocean Beach!

It's good that it's a long wheelbase model vs. the shorty 108" but w/o a collapsible steering column and with the cabover design you are the first one to arrive at the scene of the accident.

Not a big fan of the paint scheme, but I like the vintage. I used to have a '63 Ford van with the engine "dog house" between the front seats like that.
I never thought about turning it into a camper, though.

A friend had a Ford van with the dog house. First van I ever rode in. When I turned around and looked in the back, "great to camp in" I thought. I didn't get my first van until 1977. Dodge short wheelbase with windows in back doors.

You mean to say cars of the 60's were UNSAFE ?? Many of us are lucky to be still around...

Yes, but then so were are playpens, cribs, highchairs and the toys we played with.

Heck even staying out until the streetlights come on is considered unsafe by many today! And heaven forbid the kids walk to school on their own.

Where's the tongue in cheek smilie when you need it.... :D

And don't forget picking at the asbestos lining the radiator pipes. Or applying mercury to dimes or quarters to make them nice and shiny.

And sadly, even if you drive your kid to school, in today's crazy world they still aren't safe.

I missed that....interesting. Looks like something off of a B29.

Thanks for posting this! I had a 1966 Chevy Van when I graduated high school in '75. Got me started on van love/life. Sold it for needed cash when I went off to college. Finally bought another van at 59 years old and am having a blast building it out and re-living my teen years! Wish my '15 Chevy Express 2500 would be as easy to work on as the 66 was!
Have fun and best of luck to you!
