I'm a cabinet builder by trade and I can do basic carpentry and wood working. In general I'm fairly handy. I've thought about doing something on my own but whenever I do something new like this on my own it's usually with limited success. Things I can usually fix or workaround but...
I've got a 2002 Chevy express 2500 and I really would like a hightop. My problem is I don't know where I can get that done.
I have seen Bob wells talk about one place in the US that are reputable but that's in CA and I'm in the middle of NC. The drive to me isn't worth it tbh. So is there...
These were $50 per panel so it doesn't sound like a great deal as of right now. I might make a trip out to San Tan Solar to gear up when I'm ready.
Tha ks for the help :)
I don't know much about solar and I'm not sure if these are with my time. The cost of each panel is very...very cheap. So I'm thinking about picking up some of these.
Thoughts?

Where in the van did you drill the hole? Thinking of doing the same with my van for a while now. Not exactly sure where would be a good place to put it.
Thanks,
Bryan
The idea is to have a table saw on the back end and I could use the van floor as a lead out table. I could rip out whole sheets of plywood if I wanted to.
I think your right though. Too much stress on the whole thing. I might put temporary/removable toe kicks underneath to help support it...
I've got an idea to have floating cabinets in the van (2002 Chevy Express Cargo 2500). Meaning they won't be sitting on the floor but mounted on the side of the van and up off the floor by 3 inches. All of the weight would be supported by the beams/ribs. Of course I'd try to make it as light...
Been thinking about rigging my propane tank on the back door of my Chevy Express. Mostly for safety but also to save on space. Problem is if there are any road laws or problems I'll need to think about where I'm putting it. Like what if someone rear ends me and the propane tank ruptures...
I'm 6'1" and I hate having to hunch over to move around my van. I'm seriously thinking about getting a pop top so I can have the benefits of a high-top but the aerodynamics/fuel efficiency of a regular van.
The question is: are they worth the money and effort? Are there gas savings with a pop...
I've got a 2002 Chevy Express 2500 with 130k miles on it. It's in good shape and it was well cared for by a school disctrict. Drives great and as of right now I'm getting 18-19 mpg on the highway. Hypothetically if I were to get the engine rebuilt would that drastically improve my fuel...
