Webasto Air Top 2000 ST B

Whats the coldest someone has been in with one of these heaters? How well did it do? I'm planning on full timing in Minnesota while using one of these heaters

    Van Resale Value?

I know I can't count my time as anything if I want to get the value of the van and material back after a few years living in it and I'm ok with that. I don't plan to sell the van anytime soon but that's a way for me to look at it as I'm not throwing 40K away if I don't like vanlife. And I will...

    Van Resale Value?

So I'm about to pull the trigger on a new promaster 159" wheelbase about $30,000.  And after I build it out I wouldn't be surprised if I put another $10,000 into it.  If in a few years I decide I want to sell the van what is it really going to be worth?  I've seen old converted sprinters with...

    Critique CycleCruza's 400W System

If I get one 250w 24v panel and have a mppt controller would it in theory put 500w at 12v to the batteries? (probably more like 400w at 14v) like this panel...

    Duracell Batteries

Thanks sounds like I'm overbuilding it. The cheap duracells should work fine for me and for ease of placement and being cheaper maybe I will go with 6 since it will still give me a few more amps to not draw them down to 50% I work on trains so overbuilding things is normal for me. Do you...

DOH! Be sure to check battery water level!

Those cap water catchers look very interesting I wonder how well they work

    Critique CycleCruza's 400W System

I'm still in the planning stage but I will probably buy the panels and controller separate and make my own cables without those fancy connectors that look like water will get into.

    Critique CycleCruza's 400W System

From what I have read you want to wire the panels in series NOT parallel so that you can get above 12v (24-36v) going to the mppt controller which will reduce the volts and raise the amps going to the batteries. Then you can use cheaper smaller wire since the amps are lower. And when the...

    Duracell Batteries

I will probably line them up above the rear axle under the bed. I'm for sure not gona put them behind the axle or up high.

Need advice on a tow vehicle

I also agree with Ballenxj on the chevy/gmc vans with the 5.3L they are solid vans and can get 20mpg if driven easy. Plus you would get a enclosed place to carry all your gear. But they start to get expensive when you want one with low miles

Need advice on a tow vehicle

If you want cheap and reliable go with a 04-08 regular cab F150 with the 3.8L 2 wheel drive. You can pick one of those up for under 5K with fairly low miles and that 3.8L is very reliable and still gets 18 plus mpg. Don't even look at a ford with the 5.4L they are junk

    Duracell Batteries

Thanks Sternwake. Per my calculations I am going to need at least 400ah bank but to last longer when its raining and to not put as much strain on my batteries I think I'm gona go with 8 of the Duracell GC2. The controllers I'm looking at is Renogy Rover MPPT40 or EPsolar ZHC 40A MPPT and...

    Duracell Batteries

My dad had a Duracell battery that lasted 15 years in his 75 Goldwing. Granted that wasn't a deep cycle but that's still a long time for any battery. I would be happy with a Duracell battery bank. I'm still doing my research on batteries and right now am looking at Duracell, Trojan both...

Is anyone fulltiming in a cold climate?

Sounds like the snow getting tracked in isn't really an issue

Is anyone fulltiming in a cold climate?

Thanks. To be honest I'm not really worried about the cold. But tracking the snow in and having all the big clothing might be difficult or a learning curve.

Is anyone fulltiming in a cold climate?

I live in Minnesota and want to build out a promaster for me and my wife.  Most of the videos I've seen are in warm climates.   I have a good job and like what I do so I'm not gona move to get out of the cold.  I've done a lot of research and am planning on buying a new promaster 159" wheelbase...
