    Considering this van

Rust is the first question I'm asking her. :) I have realized I HATE the conversion vans with carpeted floors. I have a car with all leather seats and it was still completely caked in previous owner juice, so I fear what lies within 27 year old carpet...

    Considering this van

https://harrisonburg.craigslist.org/cto/6074757027.html Hey! I've figured out what I want, to some extent. I'd like something with lots of windows, low miles, and as unfinished inside as possible (as I'll be putting in my own flooring and some light furnishings - not a full time dweller van but...

The choice overwhelms me! (Looking for a camper rather than a full time dweller)

Watched the whole thing, the follow up, and the bridge's evil little brother video, and I still want a high top. :) Is it weird that I found the crashing noise strangely satisfying?

New guy here - is this a good deal for a conversion Van?

Tip: I use this extension to monitor CL pages - you can set all your criteria on the left, and then click to monitor that page, and it will alert you the moment anything pops up on that search. Gives you maximum time to react, post the link out, go view it, etc...

The choice overwhelms me! (Looking for a camper rather than a full time dweller)

Today I went to view this: https://knoxville.craigslist.org/cto/6043989264.html My first impression of the outside was good, however once we got into the van, it was a mess. I don't really care about the condition on the inside, but there were cigarette burns and stains all over, things were...

Personally I like the 10x,xxx odo sweet spot, as it seems like these are a much better deal that the 5 digit ones that always seem to exclaim ONLY XX ORIGINAL MILES!

Yeah, I'm going to have to actually know the height of my vehicle... might put a sticky on my dash to remind me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The choice overwhelms me! (Looking for a camper rather than a full time dweller)

So I went for my first test drive... omg I'm in love! Not with that particular van, but just that type of van - the engine sounds so meaty and fun, the huge steering wheel, all the random light switches and electronics, it's all so very... unique. I'm fired up now to find The One! As a side...

To stand or not to stand

I'm looking at vans with room to stand up. I like vans with windows, so a conversion van with high top is a goer for me. At 5'7, would there be enough room for me to stand in this? Or would I need a super-mega high top like this?

Hello! Part timer here, hope that's ok.

OMG thanks everyone, such a friendly group of people. <3 It will be my runaround daily driver, but I rarely go anywhere other than to the store or my thrifting circuit on weekends. I work from home, and I don't even leave for meetings, so this van actually will be an excuse for me to get out...

Congrats. Just read through this whole thread and it got me excited. How long were you looking?

The choice overwhelms me! (Looking for a camper rather than a full time dweller)

Thanks - I've not been to view ANY yet so I should go and start looking. I've been talking with a guy who has a van with apparently only 44k miles on it, 1985, so that will be a nice place to start I guess. I'm fully expecting to see a suspicious 5-digit odometer and interesting paint patterns...

You are both so sweet. Thanks for making me feel welcome - I got a little nervous posting because I am sort of out of my element with this. But it's gradually coming together with the help of others, so thank you. I'll likely take you up on that offer nearer the time. Right now I'm just waiting...

We actually have a minivan but it's a) broken and b) a little too small for feeling comfortable in (which is the reason that a) is still true!). I love the look of conversion vans, and they have just that extra umph of space so I can add a desk area without feeling like everything is in my way.

Mainly just me but hubby will get jealous and will want to join once a season, before he remembers how much he prefers flushing toilets! Cats will remain at home.

That's really helpful. I have a terrible brain for numbers so I need to focus on the stuff that matters. I saw a van parked up in the drive of a very fancy house, looked in good condition too. Might go leave my number in case they're selling...!
