Recommendations for First Camper Van + Share Your Story

In my opinion, get something like this, if you want a solid roomy 4x4 van:  https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/d/1975-ford-econoline-e250-4x4/6492594348.html

Class B - Older Dodge Xplorers

I did not realize that Roadtreks have 5'x32"x3" pans in them that help yield 6'2" standing clearance.  Maybe I can either get a pan from a Roadtrek or Xplorer to install inside my Dodge van followed with a nice 24" top.  Thanks for your input!

You're correct, but if I had that done on my own, how much standing room should I have?

Or buy black poster board instead of white and get it for less than a $1 somewhere else. I got mine for 59 cents at a grocery store, from taking my time (a week or two) window shopping all the retails stores first.

Storage containers that can withstand heat/sun/UV?

Avoid plastic and go with wood or metal crates!  Store your water in glass.

I believe the central trough in the aisle you had been talking about was from between the model years 1998-2003?  The 1998-2003 have the much taller/higher tops too, compared to the shallow ones from the previous years.  I want the "best of both worlds", the deeper trenches and higher tops. ...

Class B - Older Dodge Xplorers

I am looking for a Class B RV and I need 6'6" clearance to stand inside.  When did the Dodge Xplorer 224 stop installing the trench/lowered dropped down floors and how deep are they, a foot?  Of course, there will not be a Xplorer to meet my height requirements, hence why I will like to start...

    Ethernet Cable RJ45

I don't think I am looking for a booster since my conection does not need to penetrate through the windows, walls, and me inside of my vehicle, no faraday cage effect applys to my application, my plans are to have something mounted on the roof, outside.  I believe I am looking for a wireless...

    Ethernet Cable RJ45

I am new here and will like to learn where I should start on my build with terms of knowing where to plug my Ethernet Cable so that I can get Internet using my laptop? What I am aiming for is to plug the Ethernet cable, from the laptop, to a modem or something that is connected to an external...

DC-DC converters to avoid running inverter

I had never seen something like this?  This is superior to the traditional car cigarette plug?  Will this fit? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DC-POWER-JACK-SOCKET-PLUG-FOR-SONY-PCG-7153L-PCG-7154L-PCG-7161L-PCG-7162L/130853623127?hash=item1e777bd557:g:jgIAAMXQLs5Rw7gb
