    Beat mice with a brick

That wasn’t bickering, but a genuine suggestion I passed on from Julio who at Mammoth Smogs, the poor guy who discovered the rat in my engine. I promised him that I would try it before I brought my truck back for another try at passing the test. Either the dryer sheets worked or I’ve been lucky...

    An interesting bicycle camper rig

How could it kill him? He has a huge fan in the floor and I doubt that coroplast construction is airtight. Bob Wells posted a video about using a burner as heat in a van. I used a burner in a trailer I had, but I almost killed myself because I had taped plastic sheeting over the windows to keep...

    Camper boat!

THIS! I can’t afford to buy one, but this is what I’m aiming for in a bicycle camper/rowboat trailer! https://www.ghboats.com/2016/10/voyage-to-alaska-in-a-14-whitehall/ The owner used the boat cover as a tent. I suppose a cover could be created that would allow him to sit up and cook inside...

Did you make bad choices? What’s your story?

Good for you for pulling through this and living your life on your own terms! I hope that your health continues to improve and you are able to travel safely and in peace. Please be careful. It applies to everyone, but especially those of us who have significant health problems, this covid junk...

    Box for Propane Tank

I think that has to do with federal laws concerning van conversions. It’s the safest thing to do to prevent a leak from turning into an explosion. I sometimes worry about the 1 lb bottles in my truck when it gets hot. I bought one of those 1 gallon tanks, but I will keep it in the truck bed, not...

    women's forum, baby steps

Naw, I’ve never been a “nice” girl...  Bullheaded, maybe but I see no reason to change now.

Hello! going to look at a van tomorrow

There’s another option, too. I just splurged on a Kammock Swiftlet stand because I don’t have walls to attach a hammock to, and this is fairly light and portable. I really like it. I have to sleep somewhat upright because of bad acid reflux, and this stand works well, although it is pricey. I...

    Feathers got a gypsy wagon

I knew of someone who was a camp host out in Saline Vlly before NPS took it over. He used a Harbor Freight trailer to haul two 50 gallon barrels of water on the northern road from Big Pine. He pulled it with an old Toyota Corolla! One time I drove the Corolla with trailer out for him so that he...

    An interesting bicycle camper rig

I thought that I’d seen most of the good bike trailer vids on YouTube, but this is great! I really do like his heater, and the fan is important although it takes up valuable floor space. He could instead have put a computer fan in the wall- they only use 1-2 watts of power. Thanks for posting...

    Beat mice with a brick

What about smell? I’m trying the dryer sheets in my engine thing, and so far so good, although my truck smells like a laundromat.

Cali dude who's new to the van thing, looking for tribe!

Hi, sadboyvanvibes! The best way to find friends is to go places where you like to be, for example, there are a lot of rock climbers that camp in Joshua Tree in the winter, and up here now near Bishop, CA (the Buttermilks on BLM and USFS land, Chalk Bluffs BLM.) Bob Wells said in a recent video...

    Thoughts on the Alpicool Refrigerators?

I took a chance on the SetPower FC-12, which looks just the same as the out of stock ICECO 12. The SetPower has a 2 year warranty on the compressor, supposedly. I guess I’ll be a guinea pig on this.

    Fall Travel

WHOOPS- I posted the following because when I left NM in late May the state was opening up some of their parks, but their website now says that no yearly camping permits are being issued. Too bad, because you could social distance very well dispersed camping in every NM state park that I...

    Favorite Ramen Recipes?

Ohhh, you eat too much like I do, hahahaha. I ate ramen cooked with dried apricots, canned chicken, and flavored with a roast chicken packet, various spices, and a little sriracha this morning. I tell myself that I need to eat better, but ramen is so quick and easy I eat it more often than I should.
