Is it okay to even have a pet as you age?

'is it ok to even have a pet...?" I feel touch of lightheartedness when I read the thread title... reminds me of my favorite answer to the question: "Should I do/have (fill in the blank)?" Answer: "Not if you don't have to". A few years ago I was lucky to find a sweetheart of a dog that...

replacing rooftop air con gasket, ac needs stay upright or can lay on side?

I've a small '95 class C and soon need to replace the gasket on the ac.  I understand some say keep the ac upright (mounting on 5gal buckets for example) while replacing the gasket.  And others will just lay the ac on its side, which makes it easier for a one-person job, yet I did see one...

    Rattle snakes

On basis of vet's advice I got the Red Rock Biologics vaccine for my dog during her annual exam this week. And she echoed the comments here better to get avoidance training.  Here's one article with pro/con discussion, more on web of course...

    Rattle snakes

My research and talk with others, makes me aware there are a wide variety of opinions on what to do, short of or before you can get to a vet.  No judgement of The Best, just adding to the menu... Here's a thread discussion that was helpful for me anyway, hesitate to post after being criticized...

    Carpet replace with linoleum tiles?

Thanks to posters am no longer thinking of vinyl tiles but will at least have a look at carpet tiles at HD and Amazon.  They should be more forgiving of a floor that's not dead flat.  In meantime, I came across this video that might be of value to others...

    Carpet replace with linoleum tiles?

Thanks Wayne.  Can tell you're a more experienced diy-er than me, expect you already know your options, but fwiw I noticed Home Depot will cut vinyl flooring sheets to size.  And if those are wider to start with than you want, maybe they have remnants or can tell you who else in your area might...

    Carpet replace with linoleum tiles?

Thank you all for your thoughts!, am more clear.  First step will be to fold back a small carpet area under the table, the most out of sight/unused spot there is, to actually see what's underneath and how smooth/rough it is, then glue that flap back down.  That should determine the next step if...
