    Tiny Trailers and Tear Drops

I had a 2014 R-Pod. Great little trailer. Came with a kitchen slide. 6'3" interior height. Light weight and narrow. Very easy to pull with a half ton truck. Queen bed and wet bath. Tear drop shape with fiberglass panel roof. Great all around trailer. I had the 177 Northwest Edition. Very tall...

    Finished Tony Hillerman long ago.

James Lee Burke. He has two series of books that span from the late 1800's to present. Laid back but a lot of violent scenes. They take place in Texas, Wyoming, and New Orleans. Very good reads that will keep you hooked. Robert B. Parker did the Spenser series. Both authors write mystery novels.

The Nissan NV - Thoughts? and Reviews?

You have to take into consideration the fact that people are apt to inflate numbers. I have the V8 1 ton. It weighs about 6,500 lbs. It will haul a lot so it is very beefy and built like a huge boot. Not very aerodynamic. I knew going in it would suck gas but that's okay. I had a specific use...

    Morning On The Pond

Very nice! I hope to be at the RTR next year and stay in Yuma and Tombstone while I'm down there. How is the weather and is that at a park or BLM?

The Nissan NV - Thoughts? and Reviews?

I replied to your other thread. To add to what I said in it, so far I would buy it again. The 8-9' cargo area and 6'3 ceiling height sold me. Don't like to stoop. It is a solid platform. You would have to drive one. Mine is like driving a truck on a 9 1/2' tall truck!

2015 3/4 Ton Chevy Express Test

I haven't had mine long. About 6 months. Good so far but it is new. The drive train is Titan but the rear end has been upgraded and it has a dedicated heavy duty ladder frame, not the Titan's. I have the 3500 HD. I drove the 2500HD high top,  and the body roll was bad! The 1 ton suspension is...

2015 3/4 Ton Chevy Express Test

Try a Nissan NV with the V6. Power and MPG is ok. I am over 6 foot and have big feet. I like the Chevy and have always had them but couldn't stand the seat and foot space. The Nissan is a full truck front and has a huge amount of room. Long trips are no problem. They come in a low top and high...

Nissan NV 2500 HD... drawing me in

I wish I could. I have torn it down and replaced the flooring with a bedrug and starting wiring for solar set up. I''m trying to get mt house finished for selling to get under way , so van time is in short supply. The Nissan NV forum is a good reference. Look under conversions and you can get...

Nissan NV 2500 HD... drawing me in

I have the Nissan 3500 HD high top with the V8. They are 9-10 foot floor space and 60 inches wide. I am fitting mine out with beds, sink and counter space and storage for porta pot and large AGM batteries. I also have a 50 quart fridge/freezer. I have about a 15" wide walkway from front to back...

Off grid, but on the radar. What about off the radar too?

Years ago it was easy to drop out and start a new " Legal Life". Go to the hall of records for a large city and look under birth certificates and infant death certificates. Find a matching set. File for a lost birth certificate in that name. Go to a different city and use it to get a drivers...

    Adult RUNAWAYS?

Yes it is sustainable. We full-timed for 7 years going back and forth across the country. We lived in RV's and went smaller each time and made the mistake of being sucked back into the stick and brick world about 8 years ago. I have had the call of the road screaming at me bad for the last 2...

    Putting together system

I didn't mean to scare you. Breathe it's okay. There is a difference between installing a solar system in a van that you design from scratch and an established system in your rig. You have to take your time. Ask a lot of questions. Maybe cruise some RV boon-docking forums. You can do this! It...

    Putting together system

Most RV's use a battery set up, dual or single, that utilize a converter and small charger to maintain the battery and convert your 110 to 12 volt. That is the fan noise you hear when using lights or 12 volt items when plugged in. Your solar charging system and battery bank will be separate...

    Pit bullsv& Other Aggressive Breeds

I agree. The " Out of the blue" thing is fishy. There has to be a trigger for any dog to attack. Either something the owner or family member has done or previous owner. A dog like a Pitt is a ticking time bomb if these issues are not addressed through training for owner and dog. I have owned one...
