Have lurked quite a while now, reading thru the site & some associated blogs & learning a lot. Thank y'all for all the information, smiles & yes, even a few tears. Reckon it's time to introduce ourselves.

I'm currently living in & modifying an extended E350 which came with an onan generator, bubble top & roof air already installed. I'm not thrilled with the onan but I have a dog, Gypsy & an 8 wk old puppy, Jazz, found abandoned 3JUL. The onan powers the (whisper quiet) AC loudly enuff that hopefully no one will try to "rescue" my companions whilst I'm in a store.

I'm also converting a landscaping trailer into a cargo trailer which will primarily be my workshop. I have several craft-hobbies I hope will earn some $$ on the road, but I figure I'll be doing the intermittent J-O-B-thing until official retirement in a few more years. Even if the handicrafts don't sell @ least boredom won't be on the any day's menu. The trailer will also haul water, grey/black tanks & xtra goodies for boondocking.

Eventually I plan to add a solar setup & a dometic ac/dc fridge.

I look forward to finishing current projects, traveling/camping out, the winter RTR & meeting so many of y'all.

Be safe & have fun!

Welcome fantym, glad you are here. What kind of crafts do you take along on the road with you/

Thanx dragonfly & a gracious good morning to you! Lived in a TT like the 1in your pic (x it had fins) for about 2 yrs back in mid 90's b4 I bought the bus.

In answer to your question: stained glass, beadwork, soapmaking, weaving on handlooms, as well as a few other things. Could probably open a small store with the looms, bead, & yarn stash, hence the trailer. Someday I want to learn how to use a spindle, amongst a multitude of other things.

Thanx wagoner & a gracious good morning 2u2!

Triton V10, EWB, offhand can't say what size engine.

Luv that I can stand upright inside & there's a fair amount of storage in the cubbies. Does yours have a vent?

I took a weaving course long ago, not good at weaving, terrible at spinning, can't do macreme but when I was handed the spindle at class, it came easy to me and I wowed every one there. Now, If I could do something useful that makes money, I'd be okay.

I wish mine had wings, I'm going to make them though. The smaller compact I'm going to use does have wings. My big truck self destructed so I have a Toyota 4Runner to tow with. I'd rather have something smaller to tow in the mountains. The Compact weighs around 1000 pounds.

dragonfly: Hear ya about small/lighter & towing in the mountains!

Just a thought: maybe u could get roving, spindle to finger/sock wt yarns & dye (or not) 2 sell. Used 2 pass by alpaca/llama places (& sheep) when OTR & get a wishful, yearning 2 just stop & get some yarn (impossible in a semi tho). Knew a lady who spindled her wolves' underfur & knitted socks from it.

Welcome Fantym1! TY Curtis & welcome back atcha!

Had my "aha!" moment in '92 (really long/boring story involving "ex"-es, perhaps not so strangely enuff), bought a '77 skoolie @Ft Bragg, NC, converted & traveled/lived in it '95 - '01. Got as far as Apache Sit Greaves NF, AZ. It does take time/patience/planning etc but you'll get there! My last rig was a Stepvan & TT (3 yrs), got to Maine. Point being, there's no rule u can't stop, find a job & another vehicle if this 1st doesn't quite suit or wears out.

I agree, this site is a truly wonderful resource - 1st found it '09 (or maybe it was '10) & I'm still learning things.

Good luck with your ponderings/vehicle search & hope 2 meet up with y'all sometime!
