That article was about Glenn as mentioned. He is a decent guy, have met him a few times out on the road. He doesn't have the Falcon anymore. (Converted by Intervec)&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>His budget is pretty basic and very similar to many of ours when on the road. The $300 a month gas budget, especially with his current Chinook means he isn't driving very much at all. His rig also has a really nice sized fridge and freezer so he can keep quite a bit of food cold/frozen and go to the store less often.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The article really didn't let Glenn get all the info he wanted out there but I suppose that is typical. I think there have been a number of us post our basic budgets while on the road. I did a while back on our blog too. It is all good info to gather and in the end I think the basic fact is that this lifestyle can be very comfortable on very little money.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Every time it surprises me that there are so many doing it, I remember how many people think we are crazy or homeless or forced into it and I have to laugh. Reading the comments that flooded in after that article really had me giggling. People are funny!&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

A lot of it is comfort zone: what requirements an individual needs to feel secure.

For example: men in my family live, historically, to mid seventies. Women in DWs family mid nineties to over a hundred. Her mom, in perfect physical health, is in a Special care unit with Alzheimer's and dementia at 85. i'm not comfortable unless there's a mechanism in place to care for DW long term: 25 years without me, the last 10 to 15 possibly needing extreme care. So long term health insurance is a priority in my budget.

That pretty much kills an $11k annual budget.

But I didn't say I want to only make that much. I supposedly make 44000 a year. Not sure where it all went, but about half is going to the tax men

<P>If you read&nbsp;his blog&nbsp;he is eating really well on very expensive organic meats and whatnot. I have never once in my life lived on $11,000. Paying rent and utilities and driving to work everyday I lived on a few thousand less than what he is. That's without even trying....I thought I was normal doing it. Hell I've never had a job that I <EM>could</EM> live on that much money.&nbsp;&nbsp;If that were my budget I would have to keep a fulltime job.&nbsp;If you're&nbsp;younger and don't have massive health insurance rates&nbsp;I see no reason why you&nbsp;couldn't cut&nbsp;that by half or even a third&nbsp;if you wanted to. You don't need full coverage,&nbsp;2k miles a month&nbsp;and organic ribeyes 4 times a week.<BR><BR></P>

This gives a good reference to costs. Though the article does not mention that RV parks with electric can cost $20 per night. That's $600 per month folks. Way way out of a budget at $7200 per year just for rent. This guy must be doing lots of boondocking.&nbsp;
