You are seeing the top of a large fifth wheel. I thought it looked like a boat too when I first got to Ehrenberg.

People dump tons of stuff in the desert because they don't want to pay dump fees. Las Vegas is surrounded by an ever-widening circle of debris. I've gotten some useful stuff there...

Its right above the gravel pit. Standing at the boat you can see down into the gravel pit area, machines and stuff. That's a horrible description of where...sorry. Its pretty beat up, but didn't see any bullet holes. Although a big chunk on the right side top is missing. Its gutted, has a tire in it...
