wiring diagram

I tried to search but I might of been wording it wrong and couldn't find anything. I am gearing up to do another build in the next few months. I am looking to charge my reserve batteries with both solar and while driving. Does anyone happen to have a diagram of how to wire that up? ive done a full solar set up before with two 12v marine batteries but will be using agm solar batteries this time and will probably purchase the same 200watt renogy kit i did before hand.

Do I just run it from the alternator to the positive terminal on the batteries with a shut off switch in-between? Does the charge controller just work the same knowing when the battery is already charged from driving

yes, you can use a manual switch but better if the switching is automatic.

don't worry about the solar controller it will work fine.

Do you happen to have a link to info on an automatic shut off switch? I've never seen one

Whenever connecting any kind of charger, connect it to the same point as your loads. All positive connections will be on the same positive terminal on your battery bank. All negative connections will be on the same negative terminal on your battery bank.

the easiest way is with a solenoid. like this,

one big stud to the alternator, the other to house battery. best to fuse both ends. one small terminal to ground, other to a power source that's only hot with the engine running.
