I can't seem to link the article... Solar equipped, compressor fridge, Truma system for heat and hot water.

No whining about costs. We all know what the new Class Bs cost. I thought some of you considering a Transit might be interested in the build out.

That looks like my van with a much larger price tag! And why did they put chrome strips on the side!? Ugh. Chrome wheels maybe, but farkle sparkle side strips, I'm not sold on it. I'm glad to see they are making some incremental improvements in the RV systems for boondocking, though. That bed is going to kill it for a lot of people, you get a better/roomier floor plan, but at only 72" anyone above average height is going to suffer. I'm doing a similar layout, but the max I can squeeze is about 74" bed length when mounted transverse like that, so it's a smidgen under a normal double mattress size.

I just toured one yesterday at an RV show. Nice looking rig but expensive. I'd like a different layout too. Interior height was excellent. I'm 6'4" tall and can stand up inside. I would rather buy a stock Transit for much less and build it our to my liking.

Interesting that they put the Lavy in the front... And why not the diesel?

When you're inclined to step outside, the outdoor living area provides a nice way to sit and take in some fresh air and scenery. It includes a standard powered awning with LED lighting and wind sensor-based auto retraction. Below the awning, exterior speakers connect the outdoors to the onboard Bluetooth-equipped sound system. An exterior TV jack adds more entertainment versatility. Screen doors on the side entry and rear double doors let the fresh air into the cabin while holding unwanted pests and debris back.

Well, THAT explains the price tag on new B-vans!  You're buying a chunk of the 'Great Outdoors' as part of the purchase!!!  "the outdoor living area!"

Actually, a list of $114k will mean a street price of about $100k.  Not too bad in a world that typically is running from $120k to $160k.  That means that sometime about 2037 the used prices for these vans will be down in my price range.  Of course... I'll be 82 years old by then and likely need a wheelchair van instead... but that's a 'nother whole issue...  :D

For the purposes of comparison, here's an Airstream Interstate on a Sprinter diesel chassis for a mere $168,000:

I think i saw one of these browsing at Bs the other day.. love 'em..
When my rich uncle dies and leaves me a small fortune,... i'm gonna buy 3 just because!

Another cramped dinette/undersized bed-on-wheels. I could not use that one. I do not do dinettes, period. I also need to be able to stretch out in bed. Just my needs. Likely a great machine for others.
