For the summer it is about elevation. About a 3 degree decrees in temperature per 1000 feet...learned that at the Summer RTR. So a Summer at 6 or 7 thousand feet would be a cool summer....I spent last summer in the Northwest...Very nice and lots of good places to camp and fish....This summer may be Colorado or New Mexico....!
Summers are yummy in these parts. Mostly in the 70's, occasionally in the 80's, and rarely ever in the 90's. Nights are wonderful for sleeping.
Lotsa fun outdoor activities ta do around here, (fishing is excellent), and then there's always the Cascade mountains for even more fun and incredible camping!
We go north or up in elevation - coastal Oregon and Washington, Montana, Colorado Rockies, Nova Scotia, Alaska, British Columbia. We don't have air conditioning and we have spent the summer in places where in gets into the 90s with high humidity. It's not fun but parking in the shade where you can catch a breeze makes it bearable.
How do u find out where to camp for free??. For example if go to Oregon are where do go ??. Thanks
If I decided to go to Oregon for the summer , how can I find out where to park free for the summer??.
Thanks
Those are great web sites! Also be social..! Ask someone that you know is doing what you are doing...BC is a remarkable place. I cannot wait until Summer is here so I can head back to Washington and BC. Love to fish! Friendly people in Oregon!
After 6 years of living on public land, I've become pretty good at finding great, free boondocking spots. I have two blog posts that I tried to cover it all. Find them here:
