Hi! Oh I bet the weather is nice there right now!! Yea I am about an hour south of Traverse City. I have camped on BLM land before, I like the remote areas a lot. I cannot wait to get on the road again!! As soon as I can I am gone! Until then I want to take some mini trips this summer, like extended weekend trips. Have a beautiful weekend! Peace! :)

Congrats, Howie, on the sale of your S&B!  Hope to see you at the RTR next winter.

Thanks MT,  I'll work on my reclusive self to come out for a day or two at least.   ;)

Thinking about it, I don't really feel like I live in any one place. I move according to whatever seems like a good idea at the time. Sometimes, I'll be in one place for a day, sometimes I stay for a couple years! I never know what to say when asked where I'm from. Mostly, I point at the ground under my feet. Plus, using the word "from" conjures past, looking back. I try to look at now.
That said, I'm in the Olympia area of Washington state. I'm formulating my escape.

I had an odd travel day today. I woke up to a toasty little house. Packed my stuff and made three trips w/ the sled down my 450' snow filled driveway. I drove 350 miles from my partial done little house in Michigan's eastern UP to a comfortable guest cottage on Lake Michigan in western LP Michigan. Watched a beautiful sunset.

What makes it odd was I left slipping and sliding in the snow and ice my driveway and later in the day had bugs hitting my wind shield. May I start shopping a van. I've been ping ponging back and forth helping the new owners get settled in the bookstore I retired from in 2013. The previous owner has made his guest cottage available until July.

I'm still traveling in a tired Subaru Forester. On the trip today I saw several spots that were candidates for "I'm done driving today" lol  I like this thread.
