Greetings,

I'm a 27 yr guy from coastal Georgia. I come from a working class background and I've been working at a call center for nearly 4 years with a very modest income. I am tired of paying such high rent so I looked into buying a home. Half way through that process, I realized that the "deals" weren't so great and I didn't like the idea of being stuck with a 30 year mortgage in one place and the other headaches that come with home ownership. Some how I came across videos and blogs of people living in RVs and other alternative forms of housing as a way to cut down on living expenses. What a novel idea I thought. 2013 is almost here and it's time for a change. My goal is to purchase an older class A, C, or travel / park trailer for around or less than $7500 and eventually find me either an affordable RV lot or a cheap piece of property and set up a homestead atleast for several years to build my savings up. I'm a guy of few hobbies. I'm a chill dude, an introvert, somewhat of a loner.

I dont know the details but there is a place on St Simons Island where people park their RVs and such, I think it may be $350 a month. Not sure what is affordable to you. My bro lived there a year. Its mostly mobile homes but the last time I was there a couple years ago there were some RVs around there.

From time to time, I like to play games on snes, sega, and ps1 emulators on pc. I like to play the super mario and sonic games, legay of kain soul reaver games, and the freedom force games. Recently, I played marvel ultimate alliance.

Hello and a warm welcome from chilly Iowa.

You're on the right track. One advantage to a camper type vehicle is that you can camp without having to worry about being stealthy.

If you go the route of renting or buying private land, it will simplify things a lot. You don't have to worry about the law waking you up...

Don't worry about the little things. You will find out along the way what works for you... I tried to do a lot of planning but found actually camping was the best way to learn one's preferences. I imagine you will have the time of your life!

The best thing you could have done was visit here. It's only going to get better each day.

Bradfod aka the Van Trekker
