the last time I lived the nomad life it was cheap but it was the 80's and the 90's before and it cost squat to be a nomad then it cost me around 300.oo a month  we live on $700. oo a month .and do ok kinda I started adding up the bills just to keep up the house .lights are $100. a month gas 100.00 a month water went up from 50.00 a to 75 .00 a month phone is 100. a month 120. to insure the van and the house. the only thing I having going for me is the house is paid off but my wife passed away but toe taxes are around 800.00 a year and one credit card I am going to try to pay it off in the sprig and I destroyed that to easy to buy crap that I do not need . so what are the basic costs to go back to being a nomad now . these figures do not  include general up keep of the house and the property .

I know vandwellers who live on $500/month or less. Your largest monthly expenses would be fuel and food. You can reduce fuel expenditures by staying put for longer periods of time. Also, you'll have the proceeds from the sale of your house. That fund could be used for things like insurance and registration as well as an emergency fund.

This is a long thread, but you'll probably want to read through it:  Survive on $600 living out of vehicle??

thinking about putting the house on the market in the spring there are 3 projects that need to be finished and I will deal with them in the winter .setting up the van now this will take a bit of time and hopefully late summer or fall should be ready to roll
