Hey guys and gals,

I have a lot of lights around my RV that are either missing covers, or where the covers are just old and flaky.
Here's a picture of one I just took.

Do you know what I might call one of these? Do they have a name? And, where do I get replacements?

Also, do you know if they come in colors other than white?

Thanks.

That is an interior light cover. Very commonly used in all the RVs.

And yes, the heat from the bulb dries out the plastic and it deteriorates in the middle like yours is.

Any good RV parts store will have them.

I've never seen them in any color but white but who knows.

Take a sample one with you to make sure you get the right size and method of fastening. If one is going or gone, the others aren't far behind but that depends on how much the light fixture was used. I had ones in the bedroom that looked almost brand new while the one over the sofa was falling apart.

Incandescent bulbs burn hot and should be replaced with LED's at the earliest opportunity. Not near as much heat or battery power to operate. You could spray paint one to see how it comes out or get colored LED's.

Actually using LED's for about half the lights in here. Maybe I'm using the wrong ones. They're not very bright, and they run as hot or hotter than the old fashioned incandescents. I'm all for LED's, if I can take my precious lumens and make lumenaide. Is there a particular brand you like?

Brand? I don't have a clue. I replaced all mine two years ago What I looked for were dimmable and warm white with as many lumens as I could get in the 1141 bulbs my fixtures take.

I bought my LED RV lights on eBay. Cheap, cool operating, easy to install and a bright light.

We replaced all bulbs interior and storage with LED's  thru Amazon, super cheap and working good a year later, no excessive heat, super brite and battery life is good. Brand was Sunnest for 1141's,  about $11. for 10. Amazon was good for replacement covers also.
