So say hello to my little friends...  :D

975 watts of monocrystalline goodness!

It's fair to say I still need to buy a controller, batteries, inverter...umm, oh yeah, and a vehicle would be good too...but it felt really good to make a substantial purchase, indeed my first purchase, towards my goal. Which is really good in itself, because even not long ago I would have been plagued by doubts, fears, etc...so I'm feeling pretty positive about this. I plan to carry them around on my back until I get a vehicle as an incentive...maybe charge homeless people spare change to charge their free phones.

I posted this in the truck forum because, well, it'd be really embarrassing if I ended up with a Prius at this point    ;)

Brad

I know you have a ways to go but I know that the first time you hook your little friends up and start seeing those amps just gush in that you will be grinning uncontrollably from ear to ear.

Now you need some of my little friends. ;)

I was gonna post that now you need a big ass controller but then I saw the post about 6 6v batts and now I'll add a big ass rig too.
Of course that will come in handy for the roof real estate too !

Maybe a 1 ton van and a trailer to match ,,,hmmm that sounds vaguely familiar........ ;)

That was interesting, even though I can't really get my head around method #4.

So, if I have six 6v batteries, would that really be considered "3" if set up for 12v?

Right and pretty much the equivalent of the three 8-Ds in my truck. They are a nice match for my system, yours begs for more. You could go with larger 6v's and match up the Ahs to watts 1 to 1.
