I am part-time tenter, still working 40+ hours per week, can't retire until health care for other family members is not my responsibility.  Had a pop-up, lost in a a distressing event, so now I tent.  Have my eye on a used T@B, waiting for the right moment to pounce :)

mostly full-timers on fixed incomes. Some of us work and live in full time, I work and stay with family until I have saved enough....on again-off again

All of the above. I live in a old motor home, travel with a truck with topper and sometimes a tent, and winter on BLM with a small home built trailer.

I really don't think there is a 'most people' here!

The spectrum is so broad that just about every scenario is covered.

There are full-timers without a S&B home, some who still own property somewhere, some looking for property to settle down, those who hope to never settle down, part-timers living in every kind of situation and then there's all of those who are trying to plan their future whether it be part-time or full-time.

And then we have the range from small cars like a Prius to those who have Class As with everything else including renovated transport trucks, ambulances etc. tossed in to the mix.

There is really no 'most'! of any one lifestyle or vehicle.

Part timer here. We try to be gone from our sticks and bricks 3-4 months a year. So far this year, we have done 2 months but I am about to play catch up heading out to Lake Havasu for a few weeks and then Ehrenberg for a week. Have a small 18ft 5th wheel which we have rehabilitated over the last year. Unlike some here, we would never give up our house since we own it and it is pretty cheap to keep but totally understand others shedding all their stuff and hitting the road. I follow many on YouTube.

I'm working on being in the transitional phase. I just bought a moho to live in so that I can sell my house and start putting more money into my pocket. Plan on being "out there" full time in a few years. Excited to have the motorhome for weekend/extended trips in the meantime though as well as just shedding the excess crap around me.

Part timer for over four decades as the house was base camp for jobs that we no longer have. Have no reason to stay here. Don't want to stay here. To stay would cost $20 - $30 per night depending on utilities, so to leave would probably be less expensive, once I finish making the trailer truly self contained. Month long road trips with tent/backpack comprises most of my history but the body is broken now so nothing more than a small daypack for days that I can walk. First there was cost analysis, followed by logistics & research, leaving only the actual act of jumping in, and we're at the edge.

The Ex and I were part timers for 30 years. Every trip one of us would say that it would be great to live this way. Last year I retired, sold everything to the EX aside from the truck, trailer and personal items, now I DO live this way.

We have been both, over the years. We currently have an older low end class A motorhome and migrate from PA. To the warm weather for 4-5 months every year.

Retired part timer My sons now men cannot afford to move out so I am still slogging away. So tired of San Francisco.

72 year old part timer here.We are on the road 4-6 months a year and home 6-8 months.Works fine for us.

I am officially a weekend/seasonal/part timer ...  and spent the better part of last summer in my RV (30 ft Class C).  I also go to the Glamis Dunes 5-6 long weekends a season and quite a few weekends at the area lakes and up North in the tall Pines.  I've learned a lot from Bob's youtube videos and actually found his site perusing RV sites...very helpful.  So why do you ask urban?

Im also an "all of the above"..gotta keep a homebase with a bathtub

Wannabe part timer, at the moment. We lined up to pick up a van in a few weeks. My (our) plan is to van around where it's warmer for a while. It will have to be a caped superhero that can switch back to a mild mannered IRL van when the occasion calls for it. I love privacy, far enough in the boonies that I can't hear or maybe cannot even see neighbors. I want to explore blm land.

The van is a Honda, fwd, with 3000 tow capacity. I hope we can get to places that are private enough with only a fwd. Maybe a light Scamp or Casita egg might be added later.

I had a friend that did amazing things with his Honda van, even an off road rally but it never looked the same after.

I am a part timer, started in 2006 when I retired. Sometimes I have a home base (like now) other times I stay with friends or family when I’m home (Tulsa). My trips can be a weekend to 3 months (longest I’ve stayed gone.) Someday I may go full time but right now I’m satisfied with my awesome affordable rental by the Arkansas river and spending quality time with grandkids. However when I feel like it I leave...end of December I’m heading to Arizona and then the RTR. I have converted a 2006 Ford econoline into my home away from home. Everything I’ve done is removable so I can switch back to a passenger van if needed (think family trip or resale)

Aspiring full timer here. Retired Army and now finishing a second career. I've moved 21 times counting deployments. I've no roots...community connections. I've traveled as much as I want to travel. I see the virtue in minimalism, but I'm not a great example of it. I want to relax and move when I get bored.

Weekend RVer at the moment.

I'm 67 and retired.  I am a part-timer and travel from a base camp.  My home is in the Dallas area and I have a summer place in the southern Colorado mountains.  I am currently at home for the Christmas season.

The longest that I traveled was to Alaska in a class-A diesel pusher.  That was a three month trip.  This past year I did a lot of car camping in my Prius.  Most of that was in Colorado, but some in south Texas as well.  I car camped because I wanted something more nimble that the class-A.  I recently purchased a class-B.  I took it out for some time in the south east, but it is currently in storage.  I plan on going to the RTR so will be doing some time on the road in January.

My wife is a stay at home person.  She does not like to travel but just wants to fly to any destination.  I feel that I miss out on way too much by just flying to a destination.  There is just too much that you miss by just flying to a destination.  However, I want to be able to easily pick her up at a destination.   It's way to hard to do that in a class-A, but is fairly easy to do that in a class-B van.

My wife is currently tied down at our home because her father was put into a nursing home within 2 miles from our home.   She feels that she just cant get away.  I will continue to do shorter trips from Dallas, but may make more extended trips later on.  My son lives in Wisconsin so wouldn't be surprised if my wife suggests next year that we use his home as a base camp, which will allow us to tour the upper Mississippi area.  Also she has a godson in Rochester, New York that she has remained in contact with, so she might want to take an upstate New York/New England trip next fall.   We'll see.
