I been van dwelling in Philly for about 2 years now. I want to leave. I'm a regular blue collar guy. 35 years old. Always working dead end jobs. I worry I won't be able to support myself if I do leave. Plus I know this area like the back of my hand. I know where to park. Where everything I need is.I worry about the police if I leave. Just wondering how you guys manage all this. I'd like to go to new hampshire for the summer me thinks.

If you have any savings start the van and head to NH. Plenty of jobs everywhere it seems. Construction, restaurant, Lowes, Home Depot.

And remember, the road goes both ways. Good luck.

Not like you're heading off backpacking through Asia on a shoestring, which millions of youngsters do.

You'll be fine, able to deal with whatever comes up.

Worst case another dead end job in NH should be easy to find.
If you desire to do something and you don't you will always wonder if you should have.
If nothing else consider it a vacation. Come back if you don't like it.

Seasonal work is usually easy to find in camper friendly public land areas. Ski season has a set of challenges on its own - summer is a good time to figure out if the area is worth it.

Actually I'm kind of in the same boat i have been a van dweller for 10 years in Kentucky and I've been to many states I know how to find temporary work but I'm kind of nervous because heavy traffic makes me nervous and confused when I'm just randomly driving and don't know exactly where I'm going especially when your GPS is having a retarded moment and gives you wrong directions and then more than two lane highways I get really nervous too many lanes to cross bumper to bumper traffic drives me crazy and scares the crap out of me narrow back roads make me nervous I love traveling I've Been Everywhere from the east coast to the West Coast but I've never drove it I have eyes always with somebody who did the driving I've traveled with the circus I've traveled with fairs I mean I know you just do it just go and face your fear and all that stuff all I know is I have got to get away from this high heat in the summer and snow in the winter right now at this moment it's probably over a hundred degrees in my van and it's driving me nuts but that's another story.
