Anyone here affected by it?

How are you dealing with it?

We often wonder the same things. Can't imagine living where temps drop well below freezing...let alone in a van or even a motorhome.
Its colder than we like when it goes down to 30F once in a while here in the Southwest desert.
All we can do is offer warm thoughts.

Completely snowed in. Stranded in Central IL. LOL but we're toasty warm and waiting until tomorrow to get plowed out. Can't even move the van today. The road crews quit plowing cuz the trucks were freezing up. I think there are some out tho. Its mostly ice on the roads and I have 4 foot drifts. WOW its cold!!!

Cleanheart, glad you're staying comfy. A friend in Ill reported wind chills of -45. The "lake effect" up there can be brutal.
Do take care and stay safe.
See ya soon.

I hope vantrekker is warm and cozy. He is somewhere cold, Iowa or somewhere. I'm still in my house but freezing, furnace and fireplace are running. This is a good thing for me, every year I say this is my last here in the winter. It will be if I can get the rental sold and not have to worry about it. I say its a good thing because I have been doing more clearing out to make my move to full time boon docking.

Well, Florida is pretty cold where I'm at. Letting all the faucets drip inside and out to avoid freezing and pipes bursting. I'm wrapped up with long handles and a sweat shirt as well as a scarf? around my neck and two heaters trying to keep just one room livable.

We spent part of one winter in DeKalb in a TT 20 years ago. Nothing worked to make that TT anywhere near tolerable -not extra portable heaters or taping layers of bubble wrap on the outside of the windows for insulation or anything else. We headed south and do not leave FL in winter, now.

-20 to -40 wind chill here in wv, ill be inside at work soon but tomorrow will be down around 2 without wind. Mr buddy actually had to go on high, very rare but im still comfy. Floor is freezin tho.

Hi All,

Whilst you are in the cold,we in Perth Western Australia are sitting on
35 deg tonight and looking at 40+ for Sat.With a total fire ban for the
state for the weekend.Won't be moving far from the air con.

Those of you living in your vans I hope you are well rugged up.

The news tonight showed Niagra Falls frozen,It looked briliant.

Hope you all had a good festive season/Happy holidays.

Cheers

Ok. Got it now. I wondered why you were sitting in the air conditioning when it is 35-40 degrees....then remembered that you are talking about Celsius! LOL.

It is mild in Texas right now. Mid 60 degrees F. Going to the beach next week...unless a freeze comes along by then.:D

I got up in the van 10 days ago, or so, and it was -28 degree's on the thermometer WITHOUT the wind chill. We went through a 3 week stretch of weather like that here. I am in North Dakota working and living in a van. I have a big buddy heater and am insulated well enough to run the big buddy on medium when it is -10 or colder. The only time I turn it on high is for quick warm ups if I have the door open for a few minutes. I have the cab & rear doors partitioned off from the living space. It makes all the difference.
