Travelling Baja

I don't think this is actually off-topic, but I couldn't figure out which other forum it'd fit in, so here it goes:

I'm planning to travel to Baja soon to get some dental work done, and also check out the sights while I'm there. Who else has been there? Did you have any favorite places I should go check out? Areas to avoid? Any other travel advice for a first-timer to that area?
