Toyota Motorhome Rally

I was in Quartzsite yesterday and watched part of the Toyota Motorhome Rally. 

I didn't realize they were that popular, from what I counted looked like about 17 where driving through town.

At the last real RTR there were two 4x4 Toyota Motorhomes. Really cool. Highdesertranger

I always see a bunch of those in Q. I didn’t know they had a rally here though. I think the skooliepalooza is on now.

I was wondering what the deal was yesterday I kept seeing them

As much as I like Toyotas the best one I have seen had a 4.3 Chevy conversion, a reinforced/rebuilt rear corner by the door and the front windows removed solving most of the under powered and water leak/easily damaged areas problems.

We had a couple in our church who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by buying a Toyota camper. He fixed it up a bit new tires etc. but sold it for more than he paid for it when they got from back from their trip across the country and into BC. Funny thing is when they crossed the border she told the customs agent that they were on a trip for their 45th wedding anniversary. He asked if camper was one of their original wedding presents?
