Hello everyone,<div><br></div><div>I am Paul and my wife is Margaret, we have been full time RVrs for 6 years and love it. &nbsp;Currently, we are living at Slab City because we choose to not because we have to. &nbsp;Prior to 2010 we would head up to Bend, OR for the summer. &nbsp;The weather here is great, and being from Connecticut, Margaret is from Scotland we never experienced summer temps like we have here, YIKES <img border="0" align="absmiddle" src="https://vanlivingforum.com/images/boards/smilies/eek.gif">&nbsp;but we love it.</div><div><br></div><div>We are completely self contained with 8 T105 RE deep cycle batteries and 915 watts of solar power and a 400W wind turbine. &nbsp; We've turned our rig, an '05 Bounder, into a boondockers paradise, I won't go into detail here but maybe it will be a future article.</div><div><br></div><div>Paul</div>

Are you able to run air conditioning off your battery setup? I had always assumed that was just about impossible. How do you cope with the heat? Bob<br>

No we can't run the A/C off the batteries. &nbsp;When we want to run the A/C I'll fire up the Onan on the rig. &nbsp;I also have installed a Honda EU3000is and a window A/C unit in the bedroom, when the temps are 85-90F at night it keeps the bedroom cool. &nbsp;We refuse to be miserable, I have no problem running the A/C to stay comfortable. &nbsp;Last summer there wasn't anyone within &nbsp;a quarter mile of us so there's no one to bother.<div><br></div><div>I guess I'll have to do an article on our rig and summer at the Slabs.</div>
