Ok, some will not understand this. Well most will not. I can give up everything in selling out and going on my quest to live on the road; all but my boat. I worked all my life to buy the boat I have and it is only one year old. I can't put my life together without the boat in the plan. Not wanting to pull it everywhere but I do love my coastal fishing.
So, here is what I came up with and want some ideas on what I might be missing on thinking this through.

Buying a Class C at about 32,000.00. Should buy a fairly nice Class C. Having a 1000.00 month budget. I would have the boat with me about 8 months and bounce up and down the Texas coast where I am a resident. Out of state might be doable just have to check on licensing on nonresident.

Thoughts?

I could even find a place to store the boat for a few months and break up the same ol same ol and do a road trip from time to time.

what about forgetting about the class c and move onto the boat?

Yeah, ditto... Unless it is not a cuddy?

Read Bob's newest post, if you want your boat and can afford it, keep it. We all have things we don't want to give up. For me it's tools, books, and my motorcycle. The important thing is to follow your dream for your life, not what everyone else wants your life to be.

My friend has that boat for flats fishing...think it might be a 22' actually...makes a nice stable platform. He had a 90 on it that crapped out, got a deal on a nice 50 and it really moves well with just that.

I would think that towing that behind a RV would get a bit old tho...aside from limiting where you can park, I'd be concerned about unhitching it and leaving it sit. Which means even a run to the store gets more complicated...

A rack can be built behind the RV to carry a small dual sport motorcycle, for short store runs and sight seeing junkets.  A friend and his wife does this with their Class A, carrying two 250cc Bikes.
They can still tow a small trailer too.

Yea, I was measuring things and trailer, boat and motor I'm at 28'. That means I would be pulling/driving a 50+ foot rig with the class C. Definate dead end road problem, huh? Looking at state parks and LCRA parks they have the room with class A slots. My issue would come in at launch. Finding a place to park the rv and the trailer. Unless there where to be parks with docks. I am looking now. I do it with my full size Chevy crew cab now so don't know what a shorter class c would be different. Might need to rent one for the weekend to see what happend.

I see a lot of guys here in FL with slide in truck campers on top, pulling a boat behind their truck/camper combo, is that doable for you?

The slide on camper has been a thought but it is a gas milage problem. Pulling just the boat with my truck is 9 miles a gallon. That is not a living arrangement. The camper and boat I think would be too much for a 1/2 ton truck.

that's what i was thinking. though i would look around and see what a dock rental will run him every month that might be a deal breaker or an eye opener :D
