Theft

Has anyone experienced theft at campgrounds especially like KOA or other paid campgrounds when you leave your tent out and things out and run to town or do activity?

We had someone sneak onto our site, cut the chains on 2 nice bikes, and take off with them in a pay campground. Other issues, too, but minor.

haven't stayed in any type of campground in a very, very long time. no never had anything stolen. there was another thread recently about this very subject I will see if I can find it. highdesertranger

been in all kinds of campgrounds from state parks to COEs to private like KOAs and more over 25 years. Only thing we had stolen was beer from our cooler We leave a lot of things around when we take off but we also 'kinda put things' up in a way, kinda off to the side, out of plain sight. We rarely lock bikes etc.

so, no, we haven't heard about from others while in cgs or been robbed at KOAs and the such.

I was at a beachside campground in Mexico and left out an extension cord and a pair of sandals (because they were sandy). They were gone in the morning. Otherwise I've had no problem, mostly because for me "setting up camp" means just putting out the step, and maybe a chair. Those things get tossed back in the van when I leave camp for a while. Of course, sometimes that means when I get back my spot has been "stolen."

Thank you, cause the first two post made everything I was worried about sound so silly. If someone needs my sleeping or tent that bad they can have it.
