So as I was traveling was noticing how much the wind makes a difference in comfort. At five mph it's nice. At twenty mph it's irritating. Does everyone just go hide inside, or do you hang outside and just deal with it?

I hide out inside. It messes with my lungs.

In the desert areas would think it gets dusty.

I find the wind to be wearing after a few days, whether I'm outside or inside. Partly, it's the sound of it. Nonetheless, the dry desert climate is most comfortable to me. And I love the way my clothes and my hair dry so fast.

First I roll up the windows in my sedan, then I look for a reasonably priced B&B that's not too creepy.

A breeze is nice, wind sucks.

If I can't move or don't want to, I will close all of the windows on the windward sides, and try to position my van so the wind is hitting the drivers side so it is as pleasant as possible on the passengers side, if I choose to be outside.

If the wind seems to be coming from all directions, I just close everything up, and stay inside. If it's dusty, everything gets closed as well.

We get a lot of gusty wind and stormy weather, it's the reason we got the tailgater. Look at our camp sites and you will see some chairs, the dog pen and the solar. All things that wont blow away. I'll be outside as long as it's comfortable and appreciate the trailer when it's not.

When you have a wind charger you develop a love - hate relationship with wind

I try to determine which direction the prevailing winds usually come from, then point the rig in that direction, so as not to be broadside to strong winds.
I find wind up to 20 mph to be not too bad, when gusts get to 30 mph it is time to be inside. Especially in the desert where there is little vegetation to break it up.
On cool windy nights, (when the furnace will run) it is nice to keep the batteries charged.

In the forested areas light wind is welcome, big wind not so much, I'm always on the look out for potential falling trees

Charleston Dandy filters are in full force for this thread.

Yeah...I've got 'wind' issues myself, and when it get's too windy inside the van, I need to be outsi..........

What wind charger do you have and how much of your power needs does it usually cover?

Yes gadgetme sounds like a good way to generate more electric at night. What kind of wind charger?

Interesting. For the most part I love the wind. And storms. Always have ever since I was a child. To me its energizing on a soul level. The air is different. My favorite place is @ the beach when a storm is blowing in. Waves crashing, sand blowing. I love it and love to go walking in it. Then I settle back in my cozy abode, whatever it happens to be at the time and listen to the wind howl and the rain pelt as I drink my warm tea and cuddle into a blanket.

Of course I don't like the beach when most people do, when it's sunny & warm. Also, I'm not a fan of being around a bunch of trees during storms. Seen too many large ones take out houses, cars etc.

I don't mind the wind for the most part. like gypsychic said it's energizing, it's mother nature. I love storms, any type of weather energizes my soul. well almost any type. highdesertranger

Yea, I can do without hurricanes and tornadoes but other than that it's all good!

The wind isn't the problem. The problem is the stuff that gets carried in it. Sand.... Trees.... Patio furniture.... Snow.... Rain.... Cows....
