Hello Everyone,

We are new to this and I was wondering if anyone has been/is in the Tampa Bay, Florida area and knows of a RV Park or campground with electric hookup. Any suggestions and tips are very welcomed!

Thanks everyone!

I lived there for the first 40 years of my life so know the area well. Many of the campgrounds there cater to snowbirds so should be empty this time of year. It depends on what part you are visiting. Bay Bayou is the only campground that comes to mind right off the bat that I can recommend. It's right on the border of Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. Give me a better idea of where exactly you are going and whether you want resort of cheap as possible and I'll try and help.

I spend winters an hour north of Tampa. There's an artist community jorth of Tampa called Casa de Angeles. I have a friend who lives there in his van. I believe he pays $200 / month including electricity. Most of the VFW, Eagles, Moose, etc have rv camping. If you're a member, and see rv's at the VFW or whatever, its because they're camping there.

If you're just looking for something short term check out Fort DeSoto campground. It's a county park on the point West of the Skyway Bridge and a definite can't miss if you are in the area! They don't offer long term rentals or discounts, so it can get expensive quickly, but it's worth it for a short stay.
