My first attempt at capturing lightning via a camera. A little fuzzy on the pics, but some interesting lightning. Make sure you watch it in HD.

Thanks Desert... That storm dropped enough rain to raise the Truckee river 1 foot yesterday in Reno. I enjoy watching the weather like that. I miss the regularly occuring thunderstorms back east. Try to make the most of them out here, when they are around. Cheers!

Pretty neat! In my younger days here in Florida, I'd sit outside at night and watch the 'sheet lightning' in the distance - it's lightning concealed in the cloudcover and makes huge flashes across the sky. Really a beautiful effect. Best was the lightning out over the Gulf south of me.

One of my earliest memories as a kid has to do with lightning in the East Bay area in Concord, CA. I remember laying in my bed being scared of the thunder noise so much that I had my Snoopy sheets pulled over my head. Every flash of lightning would reveal Snoopy laying on top of his dog house with Charlie Brown standing next to it. My mom eventually came in and saved the day. We both went to her bed to watch the lightning outside the window. I also remember the sheet lightning at the time too. It made the wet street glow.

How old was I when this happened? I was 1 year and 8 months old. Probably a good reason why I still find storms fascinating to watch to this day.
