Yeah. Saw that connector swap on an install akrvbob helped on. It's a good idea. BTW, did you know that drilling ANY holes in the frame of a solar panel for alternative mounting methods will also void the warranty? At least it will with Renogy, according to one of their reps, don't know about other manufacturers but would guess it would void theirs as well. If they don't have any mounting holes close to the corners, it makes it a much bigger challenge to design mounts that will let you tilt the panels 4 ways.

There are mounting holes on the bottom of the panel.  Angle brackets would give you the same basic thing as holes in the side, without voiding the warranty.

In my particular framed panel install, voiding the warranty by drilling into the frame was the only option, and at the time, 130 watts cost me to 750$ delivered. so it was not an easy decision to make.

However I also strengthened the corners of the frame with more angle aluminum and rivets, and also painted the frame white, and added more sealant to the underside. I knew my modifications actually increased the panel durability while also knowing that they voided the warranty while any engineer could see how they could not possibly compromise the frame of the panel.

But at the same point I would not want to offer a warranty on a product modified by the customer, as indignant knuckleheadedness is now apparently a culturally acceptable character attribute in today's 'look at Meeeeee!' society. But that is another rant entirely.

Drilling holes in the frame voids the parts and labor warranty.

It does NOT void the 20 year warranty on electrical production for the Renogy or most other panels.

At Renogy there is a 25 year transferable power production warranty.
