Storing gasoline when traveling

bob is right the gas will go bad with or without the ethanol. just faster with it. highdesertranger
 
Personally, I plan to pour whatever gas is left in the gas can into my vehicle's tank and refill the gas can with fresh gas once a month.

Exactly, I treat ALL my gas, good stuff and ethanol-corrupted. Never had a problem with it. Stabil Marine is their best type, and Startron is good too. Pri-G for gas and Pri-D for diesel is supposed to be the best. But the Pri products are harder to find.
Some use Seafoam as a gas treatment like Stabil, I do not. For me, Seafoam is a specific treatment to clean up the fuel system occasionally, not for extended storage.
Been doing it this way since 2005. Works for me.
 
In the army we used a stabilization product if a vehicle was stored for more than 30 days. that was during leaded gas days.
