Stinkagation is a verb I have just added to the modern vernacular.

When taking a shower using a 2.5-gallon pump sprayer you add a few ounces of Febreze per gallon for body odor control.

I like the new word...:)

BUT, before you go adding it to your shower water you might want to do some reading up on what's in it.

Maybe the use of some good old fashioned soap might do better for stankagation purposes....:D

In three of the last four years I was a pesticide applicator on a golf course applying Chlorothalonil based fungicides on a daily basis so I have built up a tolerance to common carcinogenic compounds!

Even assuming it were possible you have built up a tolerance (is that the same as resistance?) to carcinogenic compounds, I doubt the people you have recommended this procedure to have had the same happy opportunity.

Febreze is manufactured to be used on cloth, not human skin. It will kill birds. You are free to use anything you prefer on your body, but I urge others to use products designed for skin contact.

Though I am not a 'clean freak' being clean is important to me. Aside from personal hygene, which I will attend to on a daily basis, I am building my van with keeping it clean in mind. This means no carpet and as little 'cloth' as possible. This means besides my sheets and bedding which I will wash weekly(the benefit of being minimalist in terms of clothes is that with 7 shirts, 3 pants, socks and underwear I am hoping to get my clothes and bedding into a single wash machine), a cloth chair/recliner is the only thing that will have cloth on it. The rest of the van will be wiped regularly with some sort of lysol wipes.

I have heard multiple times of "van stink" and I really dont want that in my living environment.

I will go with lee on this one, I can't stand the smell of the foo foo smell good stuff. lou when working with carcinogenic substances. you don't build up a resistance, it's just the opposite. the more you are exposed the more likely they will effect you in a negative way. highdesertranger

Vinegar is a much more natural 'anti-stink agent'.  The smell dissipates in a short time.

I know a guy who uses vinegar, and I can ALWAYS smell it on him, many hours after he's used it.

I read somewhere about a term called "Nose Blind" I think.  It said that after a while if you're exposed to some smell, it becomes invisible to you.  I think this is similar to people saying you can't smell yourself.

So, why not use soap? Seems to do the job
If your van stinks, try washing your dirty clothes and linens more often. Or use the Febreeze on the linens.
Open a window and turn on a fan.

Soap is harder to get off and requires significantly more rinsing to get it off the skin. Personally I use soap and just have to deal with the fact that I need more water. If my circumstances change I will adapt my washing habits to use less water :)

Some will use apple cidar vinegar and I don't know if it smells of vinegar less. Shampoo may remove easier than soap since it is not ?paraffin based?

I plan to use the most natural, hippie-approved liquid soap I can find. Its more expensive, but my health is worth it. Plus I plan to have a dump drain on the bottom of the van (To use on occasion) so I dont want any harmful suds going onto the ground.
