Hello all,

In 2 days I will be making the move to my van living in the East Bay, California. I'm feeling pretty excited and have been doing networking and asking lots of questions about the best way to do this under the radar. I work here full-time so for now no cross country trips for me, but as a road trip freak I cannot wait. I love the idea of having my "home" with me even on my days off, hanging out by the beach or a nice couple days in the trees. If there are any other van dwellers who reside in the Bay Area it would be great to connect as I like the idea of community, and support is a nice thing to have around. So far everyone I have informed is super excited for me. I look forward to sharing in ideas and making new friends. Happy trails!

Hello and welcome. That's great to hear you have so much support from people you've told about your plans. I'm a long ways from California, but if you make it to central Ohio, let me know.

Have fun!!

I am in San Francisco close to city college been here for the last 60 years moved here in 1956 the good ol days welcome aboard.

I'm looking to start van dwelling in the east bay soon. At the moment I have a 19 year old cat, and when she dies, that is when I plan to start. Right now I'm just thinking about the best way to get started. I was thinking about trading my car in for a minivan to start - that will free me up from paying rent and allow me to save for something more suitable

OK, I'm dying to know how that's been working for you, because I'm beginning August 1, 2015, and I'm very nervous.  I'll be in a conversion van.
